I still don't understand all the hoopla about this. Clutchfans is a bbs, and what do you do on bbs sites? You post messages!!!

On top of that, sjackson clearly stated that this was a rumor. I don't think that clutchfans is to blame at all. If I were in sjackson's or Clutch's shoes, I would do the same thing they did every time. Keep it up guys, people like you make this site as bad ass as it is!

Clutch, how can you be sure it was Lance using the computer over at 610?

OK here it goes. Lance, the professional, felt that Clutch, the professional, should not have let such a nasty rumor stay active as long as it did. They emailed, had a difference, we got blackballed, Clutchfans got bagged on air. End of story.

For the personal and/or flippant things that were said about me I will be tracking you all down individually and having a fistfight with you. To the people that did not rush to my defense (uh hum, Miguel, cough-cough) and say that quote ‘Chance is flawless. I trust him more than I trust anyone on earth.’ I will simply write your name on a yellow sticky-pad, and put it in a deep dark space in my drawer. When I am having a particularly bad day I will pull one of the hundreds of yellow sticky pad names out, tear it into little pieces, and eat it like that chick at A&M.

Everything is good between 610 and CC. And if you guys are gonna bag on our programming the LEAST you can do is mention the crappy PSA’s, the way too many commercials, and the “Jim Rome sucks” angle.

    Thanks for the scoop Chance.

Lance is a hypocrite (aren't we all in the grand scheme of things) when it came to this issue being discussed (but since everything is good & we have some closure it sounds like, then that is that  .)

Lance is a professional in, and only in, the sense that he is paid for being on the air. He may have a loyal group of followers but he has a larger royal group of non-tuners in.

Sorry, Chance, but your station does a pretty good job except that it has open mics that make it seem very NON -major market (starting with the morning guy, not guys).

And that's what's great about it because for English speaking men 25-54 there is not a more popular morning show in Houston. As effed up as it is, as inside as some of the jokes are, and as amateurish as it comes off to some of you guys, we are doing exceptionally well and have been for a long enough period of time that it is being noticed outside of our market.

but I respect your opinions, especially when it comes to Rockets Programming.

On a side note...My Vince song has not been played on our air. It's been on channel 2 and on The Ticket and on some stations in Tennessee and on WFAN in New York but I have not used 610's air to push my stuff.

Lance is an entertainer not a professional,
just thought I would clear that up.

You seem to be confusing quality with ratings. The comments were concerning the quality of the show, not it's ratings. Rush Limbaugh, Dr. Phil and countless others have managed to pull in huge ratings, while still managing to be major tools. You can be Jerry Springer and still get ratings, there's no doubt about that. If you intend to be taken seriously by sports fans, then you need more than ratings, you also need substance and quality. Too many times those things are lacking from 610's morning show.

sorry... but as lame as it sounds, i'll always be a jim rome fan (the "mike tyson take w/peanuts in an ashtray" take over a year ago was gold) and the times where he plays the dean or ashley simpson sound bite kicks arse, but yeah... the only time i listen to the channel besides rome is for the updates.

...and... the seven question thingee in the afternoon (i have no idea which day of the week it is) is pretty cool.

what this post has to do with anything... i don't know. all i know is that tomorrow is my friday... and ummmmm... this is sort of a tipsy post.

In my industry ratings are the only barometer. They are a reflection of the collective opinions of everyone that listens or doesn't. When ratigns go up, we are making more people happy. When thy go down we are pissing more people off. We balance the programming accordingly.

    So, to summarize this thread:

Pants. Lance. Stance. Rants. Prance. Finance. Glance. Chance. Dance.

    Suggested conclusion:

    Recants. Romance. Advance.
