If we weren't so close to the playoffs, I'd be salivating over Tskita if I were a GM. Player with star potential probably in exchange for a player of lesser potential. They just need contributors now. Unfortunately, so do we. No go.

Sigh. But yeah, I'd flip if we got Harrington.

The biggest drawback to the Rice trade is that we don't have pick to trade in a situation like thisDenver is probably gonna want a pick in any trade for Skita.

Oh well. Its not like JVG is gonna develop a young player into anything anyway he is just going to keep trading until all our players are old, overpaid, and short like the Knicks were when he left. Oh yeah don't forget boring.

Harrington would be great. He'd really help Yao. I'd gladly trade Cuttino (who also makes the occasional bad decision. Harrington and tinsley for Cat would be awesome.

Unfortunately, wasn't Chad Ford writing just last week that Harrington isn't going to be traded, in his "it's trade time" column? One of the those espn guys, anyway. He basically said that, even though Indy has too many guys at one position (also see... Houston Rockets, 5 shooting guards), they didn't want to lose out on his talent just because of that. Sucks for them. Croshere, Bender, Harrington and Artest. There must be something going on.

Your "only drawback" comment applies to trades before the current Feb trade deadline. In the CBA the "Stepian Rule" says that you can't be without a first round pick in consecutive two future drafts. Once the 2004 lottery and expansion drafts are held, the FA signings and trades begin. The Rox will have a 2005 1st rounder that can be traded because the Utah pick is no longer a future 1st round pick.

So you can trade your pick every year just not in advance. I guess the TE has the most value this summer and I know we should wait but trades sure are fun to think about.

I still like Steve and MoT or Cato for

    Kirk Hinrich
    Antonio Davis
    and any one of
Marcus Fizer, Eddy Curry or Tyson Chandler

Obviously getting Curry or Chandler would make this a steal but if they give us Fizer maybe we can talk them out of Kendal Gill too.

And in two years if all is not well then we have plent of cap room left to reload around Yao and resign him or trade him and start over.

    See now that was fun.

Hinrich.. what a great point guard...

After watching last night's game and seeing the way that their pt. out of MD ran the wizards offense,..I realized what a true point should look like. A true point wouldn't dribble up at the top of the key trying to cross his man while a pick comes and he shoots over it. That kid just scored when he had to and passed to his teammates when he didn't have a wide open jumper.

Too often, Steve will take a fadeaway with a defender on him or pull-up jumpshot straight off the dribble.

I think steve forget's that the ball moves faster than the defensive individual... so he should always be looking to setup the open man.

And one last gripe.. for crying out loud!... could cato stop taking jumpshots? (sure he it a few last night) but until he can really stroke that shot less than the mediocre shooter he is,... pass that shot up b/c it's equivalent to a turnover.

    You still trust Rudy's judgement.

I believe Pacers woyuld do it. But, I am not sure I would if I were making the call sor the Rox. Exchange out Foster and YES. Still, I believe it is reasonably created.

Anyone else notice that the knicks were offering Moochie to the Cavs for Darius Miles before they were rejected. Man what a bust Miles has become...That being said, if he were available for someone like Moochie Norris, I wouldnt mind if the Rockets took a chance on him. What do you guys think?

No need to trade Mobley, i think the Pacers would do this:

    Pollard/Harrington/Brezic

    for

    Cato/Pike

Pollard has been horrible for them, minutes dropping fast. But we've seen what he can do in the past, so it's not too risky to take a chance on him. Brezic we keep on the IR, and Harrington becomes the starter at the 3, putting JJ on the bench, where he can wreak havoc like he did last year with the Kings.

    Yao/Pollard/Brezic
    MoT/Harrington/Pollard
    Harrington/JJ
    Cat/JJ
    Francis/Mark Jackson

Sane, I dont think the Pacers are giving up Harrington for Cato. I think they can find a better deal than the one you are proposing.
