Yes, I agree. If Stack goes back to the Mavs after 31 days(which I thought they did away with) then this will be a steal by the Mavs personally. If Stack is smart and goes to the Pistons or Celtics or someone like that then I like this deal for the most part. If Stack joins the Houston Rockets then *&%^ Yeah. Like that would ever happen.

my co-worker is a DIE-HARD mavs fan, been a fan of theres since their crappy days back in the early 90's.

He's REALLY pissed about this trade. hahahaha. Oh well, they lost alot of depth, and I hope stack sticks it to them and signs elsewhere after his 30 day hiatus. Kidd is a hoss but to piss away devin harris, 2 first rounders, depth in your big men in diop and a swingman like stack (who somehow turns into a badass playing the rockets)...man.

    This trade deadline is CRAZY!

    :D

    Nice deal for the Nets.

Isn't there a rule in place where a player can't do that?

If it aint broke don't fix it. What is wrong with Cuban. Oh well, helps us a lot. Now the Mavs got a big hole in the middle with Eric Dampier. We should be able to outrebound them all day long.

Stupid, stupid trade for the Mavs, and a good development for the Rockets.

I'm from NJ, and I like Jason Kidd (on court, off court he seems like an ass). That said, as of right now Kidd is one of the most overrated players in the league. He's still a good distributor, and he's a statistical freak in the rebounding category. But this guy can't score for his life anymore. His ppg, never that spectacular, has slipped even further this season. His FG% is downright embarrassing, at below 37%. And even his ability to run an offense is overrated these days, with his tendency of making wild, bad passes that result in lots of turnovers. Jason Kidd may have been voted into the All-Star team by the fans, but he's not playing like one. If he were a true All-Star, how could the Nets be so bad these days when they also have Vince and RJ?

Devin Harris is a DECADE younger than Kidd. He's on his way up, while Kidd is at the tail end of his career. Harris scores more than Kidd while playing significantly lower mpg, and more importantly, Harris scores very, very efficiently. At this point in their careers, I wouldn't trade Harris for Kidd straight up. No way in hell would I also throw in Diop, a solid center with excellent rebounding and shot blocking, who doesn't score much but finishes efficiently (0.58 FG%), as well as two first-round picks.

Rockets fans should be happy about this. The Mavs threw away several good pieces and future years for an old, overrated player.

The one thing I really dont like about this trade is the buyout of Jerry Stackhouse part and that will allow him to go back to Dallas.

This guy still have 15+ millions contract for next 2 seasons, why buy him out after trade? strange.

The Rockets can trade Mike James and Snyder for Stackhouse so the Nets can have a smaller buyout.

the gary payton rule i think they cant go right back to the same team the next day or two the way payton did after he was traded/bought out by the hawks. they need to wait a certain period of time before resigning with the same team.

hopefully stack goes elsewhere because it must suck being in trade talks all that time...i think detroit is probably the most logical choice with him already have been on the pistons before. they could use his experience and skills off the bench. i am sure he probably still has a place there.

boston of course they need all the depth they can get would be another great place.

heck let him stay out in the east.

oh what if the nets dont buy him out??

Good trade, could work out in our favor i hope. Now let's Cassell home like the Kidd who found his home again.

By the way, how are the Blazers involved ?

Crap. Well, who is Dallas' center if Erica Dampier gets hurt again?

That's a lot of depth, but having Terry, Kidd, Dirk and Howard out there is scary

You know, I think we can thank the morons running Memphis for making such a stupid trade with the Lakers because it forced some panic moves by the biggest threats to the Rockets. It's like there is a stupid virus floating around the NBA. Devin Harris has been kicking butt this year. He plays defense and penetrates and is a pretty good shooter. He gave the Rockets fits. Kidd is washed up and the Mavs are going down.
