I wonder if Morey will eventually make a trade after the deals the teams in the West have done? If he does, Mike Miller is the player I wish Morey could swing a deal for. I would not want to give up any of the Rookies. Snyder, Head, Hayes, or MJ are the only players that the Rockets should trade.
I wouldn't give up Kirk Snyder for the flopping little b****. And you'd give up Brooks and Landry? lay off the wacky tobaccy ya hippie.
I hate harris too, but seriously you wouldnt give up Synder for him? Im glad your not the rockets gm. Harris is a baller flopper or not.
He's a flopping b****, true ... but so are Battier and Scola. Harris can play. PG is our weakest link in a conference dominated by point guard play right now.
Nets arent going to trade Harris for anybody outside Yao or Tmac. They traded away Kidd for Harris, and then trade Harris for Brooks and Landry say? Why so much trouble, they could've traded Kidd with us directly.
This "win now" attitude getting old, if you really want a team that is going to win championships for years to come...you build a great team and draft the right players and pick up occasional FA, but trick is not to trade core talent. The only team that I could see being good in 4 or 5 years with their current rosters are the Lakers and Rockets. Morey has came and probably saved the Rockets from going completely down the drain after Yao/T-Mac are retired, traded to another team, or etc. You need more than just names to win championships.... The Suns are on their way to becoming a lottery team again within the next 3 to 4 years. The Mavs will still be a playoff team, but they won't be at the top of the conference, unless they draft some stud or end up with big FA signing someone like Elton Brand, Emeka Okafor, or Joe Johnson.
As strange as this sounds, the Nets might have HCA in 1st round of the playoffs. This move has made them much better and they have some future players coming on the roster along with their draft picks.
It seems like its just Kidd for Harris and Diop, since the Nets are reportedly buying out Stackhouse so he can reunite with Dallas.
How could that happen? Dallas had an attractive trade package to offer a rebuilding team like New Jersey because they could get to nearly $11.5 million worth of expiring contracts in 3 players: Stackhouse, George and Diop. Now on whether N.J. likes Harris more than Brooks+Landry -- you're probably right. But Dallas has an expiring contract advantage, so saying they wouldn't want Brooks/Landry because if they did they could have just traded Kidd to us doesn't really work.
for those that say dallas doesn't get any better....they have a player who can make it easier for terry, howard and nowitski to score, all they need is 3 solid scorers and kidd is a great rebounder, so I think they improve with this trade kidd terry howard nowitski dampier 4 allstars + a decent center makes them worse off?? all they really gave up was a future prospect and a veteran shooter.....Im surprised terry wasn't involved somehow
I doubt it. The Nets owe Stackhouse $17 million. They're not obligated to pay him anything for no service. If Stackhouse agreed to be bought out for $0 just to return to the Mavs he'd be giving up $17 million for the vet's minimum.
Pretty poor logic IMHO. You've taken a high-level glance at opposing rosters and instantly "aged" them. And then declared the Mavs and Rockets as the only contending teams in 4 years based upon Brooks (an Adelman pick) and Landry. News Flash PHX could have $30m in capspace in 2010, Luke Walton is the only contract the Lakers have for the 2011 season, the Warriors have 2 contracts for 2009 and the Blazers are loaded with cheap young talent. If the NBA actually followed your logic, there would be a complete inversion of the standings every 4-5 years. We ALL know that's not true.
Whoops -- I guess this is correct. One salary site has Stackhouse as expiring, the other has 2 more seasons left. Never mind then ... YallMean would be right if that's the case. I can't believe NJ would accept a contract with 2 more full years left after this one then buy it out. Got to be some serious under the table action there.
The Rockets need an upgrade at point guard more than ever. Look at the the west's bball quarterbacks: Phoenix - Nash Dallas - Kidd New Orleans - Paul Utah - Williams San Antonio - Parker Sacramento - Bibby Golden State - Davis Even Memphis has potential at PG in Conley. Devin Harris would look mighty good in a Rockets uniform. Clutch, any chance that you posted that for foreshadowing?
My Friends, I know with the recent moves made in the Western Conference, we all have started to get a little crazy and maybe just a little bit hysterical about our chances of landing other team's players. But I implore you... at what cost pride? At what cost dignity? Will we truly lower ourselves into begging for the service of a Devin Harris or a Ron Artest? Do you seriously want to mortgage what future we have in favor of disrupting the delicate chemistry that has taken us so long to achieve? Do any of you realize the Rockets are playing basketball at a very high level at the moment? Scola and Battier may be classified as floppers, but I have never seen either of them sucker punch somebody or stay down on the ground for upwards of 2 minutes in the fetal position trying to embellish a foul. Embracing even the very idea of adding a player of such questionable character saddens me. I ask my fellow Rocket fans to please reconsider such actions. We can win. We will win. Have faith!
I certainly don't know anything... I would let you know if I did. I'm just dreamcasting I guess... when these moves are made that are 95% done just for the cap, sometimes you can surprise and get someone (like Stackhouse being bought out).
