About Boston: I think CP3 would love the idea of being traded for Rondo. He gets to go to a good team and he hates Rondo. He probably got a little mad last yeah when people said Deron was better than him, but was absolutely livid when people said Rondo was the best.

CP will never go to Boston. It'll be too confusing when people are addressing 'Paul'.

But seriously, I don't think NO will do much about his trade request. There is no real way for them to win that trade. They are better off playing with him, and if they suck, blame it on Paul's attitude. There will be plenty of time to trade him later, and it won't lose as much fanbase that way either.

Not to drive off on too much of a tangent, but anyone making the argument that the Rockets should have kept Batum needs to realize the following:

--Batum was a slow starter his rookie year and did not have the summer league performance that Donte Greene had, which helped grease the skids for the Ron Artest trade, which in turn helped the Rockets get out of the first round (and within one game of the Western Conference Finals) for the first time in over a decade. So, the Rockets probably (yes, PROBABLY) don't get out of the first round if they select Batum.

--With Morey's draft maneuvering in 2008, he was able to net an early second rounder from Memphis. He used that early second rounder to dump Steve Francis's salary and get the Rockets below the luxury tax threshold. Les Alexander, in turn, reinvested those savings into the following draft by allowing Morey to buy picks to select Jermaine Taylor, Sergio Llull and Chase Budinger. Budinger being the third of those three picks, it is quite possible that if the Rockets paid ANY tax the year before, Les doesn't authorize buying that third pick. Therefore, no Budinger.

    Personally, I'd rather have:

    (A) the 2009 playoff run, Chase Budinger and perhaps even Jermaine Taylor and the rights to Sergio Llull

    than

    (B) Nicolas Batum and either not making the 2009 playoffs or a first round exit.

    But maybe that's just me.

ESPN just reported that Paul and his people will be meeting with NO management on Monday. If what they have to say about upgrading the team is not acceptable to him, he will then request a trade to either NY, Orlando, Dallas, or Portland.

If we're gonna chase someone, it has to be 'Melo or Granger. Would a Paul/Lowry combo really be that effective?

Sounds like the best point guard tandem in the league.

I dont see why NO would want to take on Rondo's contract when the whole mess of dealing Paul begin as a cap cutting move.

You can't trade Rondo for Paul because Rondo is a BYC player.

I seriously doubt the Rockets would flinch at trading for Chris Paul to preserve Lowry's feelings. Minutes, schminutes. If you can get a top 10 player (top 3 PG) in this league you do it! EVERYTIME! Otherwise, you will never truly be a contender. Superstars (+strong cast) win championships. Sad but true.

Some people dont know what it takes to win Championships. You always have to have a superstar. Even Chauncey Billups for Detroit ending up being a Superstar. You are not gonna win a Championship ever with just Brooks, Martinand Yao. EVER. its not gonna happen so stop holding on to our broken toys and get us a freaking transformer already or Porsche. You dont lure in the other Ferrarris of the league by driving a broken down truck(YAO) or Dodge Neon(Brooks). Maybe Martins a Miata? LOL!
