See thats why you guys are confused and face this big question..."But we were so good last year!"

Couple of fluke 3s and a complete collapse by the clippers is what took place. Don't you remember the first 3 games then? They were pretty much what was going on this series, chemistry has been a problem since then....as many folks in the organization have confirmed.

    Bingo.

So many misinformed fans that just look at the stats and refuse to watch the games. We all saw issues during the Clippers series. Think about it... we won because of JOSH SMITH and COREY BREWER! SMH. People seem to forget that James Harden disappeared and it was the ineptitude and collapse of the Clippers that got us into the WCFs. We were getting BLOWN OUT the first couple games of the series.

Clippers are a good team and we were lucky we came back. However, we nearly swept the Mavs.

Still had to win enough games for the seed (got lucky Spurs lost their last game) and we still had to beat the mavs in the first round. I don't see why only the clippers gets brought up when we played well overall against the Mavs.

Mavs were imploding and didn't even have Parsons.

I loved all the ridiculous articles after the Bosh catastrophe and Parsons going to Dallas. People have it in not only for Morey but for analytics as a whole. Let's hope we have a similar season to that one.

Yeah, the Mavs had injuries to Parsons, Harris, and Jefferson. And Rondo quit on the team in Game 2. Obviously the Rockets were the better team, but they got a lot of help from their first and second round opponents last season.

The Rockets won 56 games last season and 54 the prior year, in an overall much deeper West, while in 2015, in particular, dealing with a barrage of injuries.

That's quite a bit of sustained success for a lucky few flukes 3's (and of course, this analysis discounts the fluke 3 that ended the 2014 playoff run...which obviously is not a fluke when you need it to support inveterate mangling.

This is a ridiculously stupid article, "Moreyball" led the Rockets to a top 5 scoring offense yet again this season.....kind of stupid to blame that. The reason the Rockets fell off was the defense was garbage and there was no leadership whatsoever. If you want to blame Morey for anything, blame him for hiring garbage coaches like McHale and JBB.

I don't know how you can blame Morey for the piss-poor defense.

Good to see more and more of the national media start to call Maury out for the fraud that he is.

But isn't that Moreyball? Coaches don't matter, chemistry doesn't matter....
and when we had Adelman and JVG?

Not holding up Morey, just pointing out Kupchak's abysmal record in the areas of coaching hires, free agents, draft picks for the most part, trades, and Kobe's contract. those moves to build a Finals contender happened last in 08 and 09. Every move since has been a botched signing, trade, or coaching hire.

Moreyball is simply a philosophy that encourages efficient scoring and discourages inefficient scoring. That's it. It's not an offensive system, it's not a defensive system, it doesn't say that chemistry is a bad thing. That's just spin by people who don't understand it.

If this is so, explain our inefficient scoring, poor three point shooting, and poor free throw shooting. Because I don't understand.

They are actually a pretty efficient scoring team, they had a top 5 scoring offense this season despite the struggles.....that's what Moreyball allows to happen.

How were they imploding? We didn't have quite a few guys either...

The Mavs were a good matchup for us and we beat them in 5 games.

Because he hired a coach who doesn't understand defense?

How'd that offense look against the Warriors?
