All CD meant was Roy, Carney, and Brewer are three bigger, longer, athletic swingmen.

I still think if they cannot make a trade or if one of the big 6 don't fall, they take J.J.

C.D. ain't gonna let the cat out of the bag a few days before the draft over the radio. If anything, he is trying to spread false information so that maybe he can get a trade down and still get his man and another assett.

If CD was spreading false info to throw off tracks, then J.J. Redick is clearly their man .... because damn, I think he all but confirmed there is no way we take him at 8. The pause then - "No, he hurt himself with the back" .... then to use the word "red flag" later on and that they're trying to get more info ... no way we use the #8 stand alone on Redick this close to the draft.

It's all smoke screens, guys. CD isn't going to reveal or gawk about who the rockets want.
Rich Lord was practically begging for CD to say something about Carney, so he did, along with Brewer and Roy, who were similar and had similar stock...supposedly.

When asked if Redick's DUI hurt him, CD responded that "his back hurt him".
CD says that Redick and Pitsnoggle were burning up the nets during the workouts (not a quote, btw).

CD did say that spot up shooters are very attractive to the Rockets.

I still think we'll get Redick, unless someone falls.

There's only one thing I definitely came away with from that interview and it's that they won't be taking Reddick at 8.

"Do you think he hurt himself with the DUI?"
"He hurt himself with the back!" - CD

Everyone's back hurts from time to time.

Is there anything chronic about his back, any medical info?

    I found this part interesting:

Rich: Safe to say you'd be please if any of those three (Brewer, Roy, Carney) were there at 8, huh?

CD: Well yeah, there's some other guys too. There's a number of other people too. There's alot of people that are even. There's a few people that's distinguished themselves as stand apart, probably a little bit more ready right now, but overall there's alot of people bunched together to make it interesting.

No further info but the way CD's voice went up in pitch when he made the back comment just lets on the back issue is real. I think they could still draft him based on an earlier comment in the first part of the interview (carney, brewer, roy) about other options with the 8 by looking at more role specific players.

Nobody is telling who they are taking. Scrambling for info in Bargnani because he was supposed dropping all the way down to them. Tomorrow he may be back to #3. Never seen anything like this draft. It changes every day. A lot of teams are wanting Adam Morrison and Andreas. Normally, they know who the top 5 are right now, but it is way too confusing.

They will get one of the players they have brought in if everything goes the way they think it will.

Carney fits into the way the league is going, including Brewer and Roy, long and athletic. Carney, athletic and fast, mom and dad track athletes, catch and shoot guy right now, doesn't have the floor game that you would want but that should come very fast and his athletic ability is probably going to get him drafted.

Brewer's weakness is his shooting although he has worked very hard on it. He's bigger, longer than his dad, very athletic. Very impressive when he was here because of his length. If his shooting comes along, there will be a lot of teams trying to get him. I wouldn't say Brewer was short in any area if he gets his shooting down.

When asked if he would be happy if any of Carney, Brewer, or Roy were there at #8, he says, "Well yeah, but there's some other guys too, there's a lot of people that are pretty even and there is a few people that have distinguished themselves and stand apart, they are probably a little bit more ready right now but overall there's a lot of them that are kind of bunched together that makes it interesting.

They aren't going to just hand Spanoulis MLE money. They have an attractive team and there are plenty of guys that want to play for the Rockets. (So they obviously are going to go after someone else before they fall back on Spanoulis. That's my interpretation.)

On Bargnani, he said you always want to draft for need but you don't sacrifice talent for need, and a lot of times the draft will force you to make moves if a certain talented person is there.

Trade exceptions tend to have more value near the trade deadline when teams are looking to dump a player.

Novak played in a very NBA like system at Marquette. Probably has less to learn, has the spot up shot, which is very attractive to us right now. Along with Pittsnoggle and Redick. (wonder who shot the best of those 3??)

Redick's issue is the back. If you didn't know him, this guys is the gym rat of all time, he's one of the nicest young men you could ever talk to. A lot of guys impressed us with the interview but he was one of them. I think the back thing is a concern to everybody until we find out what happened.

Redick is still on their minds.

Well you did it again you tricked yourself into thinking we still may end up with redick i mean come on even if yuo are setting smoke screens you dont say the only thing you like about a player is his character after he was just arrested! lol no chance for redick what was more intresting to me was that it sounds like we might still take brewer if roy falls thats intersting!

One thing to note here is when Rich asked if Roy was clear-cut ahead of Carney and Brewer, CD defended Brewer first and quickly saying:

"Well... I wouldn't say Brewer was short, unless if he gets his shooting down."

    That wasn't the question CD...

I think he blew it personally, we are drafting Brewer.

I see Spanoulis as an asset to be traded, this and many other assets are available to the Rox to improve our team.

If I were the rockets, just trade our 8 pick and swift for their 12&15 pick & j.r smith, and hopefully either carney or brewer will still be available, and then maybe get j.j reddick. carney and brewer will be good rotational players to back-up smith or tmac. Then use your mle to get some back up pgs or good PF liek maybe Vlad or tim thomas if we can get him. I would like to get Jay Williams and Lindsey Hunter on the team.

    Yao/Deke
    Jho/Hayes/Novak or Pittsnoogle
    T-mac/Brewer or Carney
    J.R Smith/Head/J.J Reddick
    Alston/Williams/Hunter

You could really hear affection and admiration in CD's voice when he talked about Redick.

Are you serious man, I wish that was true, but his talk of Redick led me to dismay. "His back hurt him!" was depressing.
