So, you mean that long thread here after the ESPN story/tweet mentioned Morey was offering ALL available draft picks and ALL our young players -- the one were posters absolutely freaked out about for days -- including some who actually stayed up all night flipping their wigs (i think it was this one -- http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=223268 ) -- was all for nothing?

The interesting thing in all of this, if the Magic actually agreed to take the 3 draft picks that were offered before the draft, Hennigan would have made a better deal. The longer he waited and the more we saw the rookies, the less likely we were gonna deal.

The reports were saying that it was good that Hennigan was taking his time which actually became a detriment because in no way, shape, or form that the Magic had that type of leverage to wait since Howard leaving is inevitable.

    Again smh

Sounds like you hit the nail on the head. I'm guessing the Rockets liked Bynum but not nearly as much as Howard. That coupled with the great showing by Lamb in the SL and no deal. I think Lamb is the Rookie they see with the most upside and potential and they just were not giving that up unless the deal included Howard to Houston.

That offer of two picks , likely lottery picks , Lamb , Martin and filler is still a better deal than they got in the end .... those picks from LA , Philly and Denver will be mid to late 20's.

Les and Morey were content once they secured Lin. No need for Howard. Yet another successful off-season.

    LOL @ Lakers.

Either way the Rockets had the better assets at some point offered to Orlando. At which time they made a huge mistake in letting Lamb to play his way out of the trade talks in Summer League. Still Orlando's blunder no matter which way it is worded.

Les has been know to fall in love with rookies before. Does anyone think this might have been the case after the summer league games? Remember Les calling the Yao Ming, Eddie Griffin (rookie), Boki Nachbar(rookie), Cuttino Mobley, Steve Francis version of the Rockets the most talented ever? Les made a comment after the summer league games this year that he no longer viewed trading for Dwight as important as he did prior to the draft.

We can go back and forth about what the end offer was. The thing is the only thing that matters is at some point the Rockets had the best offer. Our rookies played their way out of the discussion. The offers went down because Dwight was injured/didnt want to be in Houston. Orlando's epic failure. 1000% after the deals across the board became worse.

Or a simpler explanation.... Morey offered Hennigan a better deal than what he took. Hennigan made a big mistake, and is covering his *** now that everyone thinks he made a mistake.

That deal is still way better than what the magic got. We were giving them a lottery pick together with a top prospect in lamb, and instead they got late 1st round trash and Affalo trash.

Wasn't Hennigan's call. Do you really think he's stupid? Can we just forget all this stupidity? It's blatently obvious that Fegan and Dwight worked Martens. Quit wasting time on it.

If Howard had given any indication he wanted to stay here then I bet Morey would have offered the farm.
