Thank God someone gave him props and loved the following quote: Never thought of it that way, hell even Jordan didnt do that.
Anybody has this on tape? I will pay for shipping and tape for a copy. Always see it on TV, but never knew in advanced. PM or email me if you do.
Everytime this comes on I miss the Phislammajamma days when they show the highlights from the Final Four game against Louisville, one of the greatest basketball games ever. I remember that game against Seattle, he was unstoppable. I also remember when that Sleepy Floyd game happened, and then the Rockets traded for him. I remember how excited I was because of what he did against the Lakers, and then I found out why he was nicknamed "Sleepy".
Wow, great stuff for hakeem. Off topic but in the article it mentions a guy who had 24 assists and 23 pts and 5 stls in a game, if francis could put up half those numbers we'd be well off
He'd never say it publicly, but Mario Elie relayed this anecdote on a TV program called Clutch City: Back to Back - or some title like that. I recorded it to hard disk somewhere. Mario said when Hakeem said that, he looked around, a little shocked, because Hakeem "never talked junk". That's when he and Kenny Smith knew someone (The Admiral) was in big trouble.
Was in the tape "Double Clutch" which highlights the 1995 Back to Back Championship Year. Get goose bumps everytime i watch that thing.....lol
Well, Sleepy was a Rocket for a while, so he will always only be a Rocket in my mind. It was a great read.
Last week on TNT, Kenny said that before the game, he walked up to Hakeem and said "He's got your trophy." Hakeem replied something like "he deserves it". After the game, Hakeem told Kenny he was going to go to David's house to get his trophy. At least that's the way I remember it. Go Trade Exception!
After watching that BS Lakers-SA game with the clock crap, i decided to watch the Rockets-Jazz series in '94 where the dumbass Utah clock worker let the Jazz have 10 extra secs before starting the clock and the Jazz STILL lost in Game 4. Anyways, watched Game 5 and check out Hakeem's stats: 22 pts 10 rbds 7 blks 6 ast. 4 steals dayum, thats all i gots to say
Does anyone know where I can buy the Double Clutch tape online? I've been trying to find a copy, but no luck so far. Amazon and half.com are out of stock.
