Like Mattj said Todd Wright is pretty good but David Stein is horrid. His show does not belong on sport radio. I do kind of miss Rick Ballou. What happened to that guy?
Ballou is on a local Jacksonville show last I heard. I was fine with Todd Wright eventually replacing Ballou after a few weeks of trying different hosts in Ballou's timeslot. I loved Todd Wright when he had his ESPN show (All Night With Todd Wright, Do the Tussle segment, etc) and have listened when I'm driving around late at night. I still wish Ballou had ended up on another national show, but no dice. As far as David Stein... Tell me something good about yourself... Yeah, I can't seem to get into Stein too much, although I will still listen occasionally because I forget to change the station from Todd Wright.
I really like 1560, the morning show, and the afternoon show (although this might just stem from my hatred of Jim Rome), but the afternoon show has to change. Sean and John talk about way too much stuff other than sports. A lot of times I will switch to them just to switch to another station within a minute because they are rambling about stupid topics not relating to sports.
1560 is my favorite. I used to listen to 610 when I would drive home from school, but I cannot stand Rich Lord, the guy is a complete moron. I have no idea how he is still on the air.
MJ needs a raise for lugging that big ass anchor everyday. I used to like the night shift with Matt and Wex they had good chemistry on the air.
Charlie Palilo and Matt jackson would be unstoppable.... anyone but john lopez and the other guy. they try too hard.
Big fan of frat boy radio. Lance doing the Drayton impression and the *pew pew pew's* has me rolling every time.
Remember when he would get bored or annoyed with a caller; and then cue the booing sound clip? That was some demoralizing stuff. And he would hang up on anyone who used the term "respect," and he didn't really like it when people asked him "how he was doing."
guy knew more about sports than anybody i've ever heard. could rattle off every teams roster in every sport. you remember when the superbowl approached and he used to have his superbowl prop bets show? i loved that. i miss that guy.
It's too bad Jeremy Foster left for the Desert. I wish Jeremy Foster was on the radio 24-7. Go Fizz go!
i listen to 1560 during 610's commercial breaks. houston sports rapp on 1560 is dope. i can't listen to john and lance in the morning with my son, they always run off to a obscure topic and it's usually not suitable for a 6 year old. don't catch much of the night shows. i do like mj and wex, cause they respond to my texts, and they know boxing.
I used to just leave the 1560 stream running all day at work, but I can't do streaming radio anymore. I tried getting it through a portable radio, but can't pick up any AM stations for crap so now I only get to catch a bit of Nuno's show during lunch and about 30 minutes of John and Lance in the morning.
I hate Bob Kemp. THat dude was a douche. OneonOne sports was a p*rn site if i recall. 1on1sports was their website. Maybe I can check... nah. So who is 610 picking up?
I love the fact that they DO go on some tangents, otherwise it's just radio hosts and callers beating a dead horse (Astros suck, trade McGrady) in the ground over and over. I have to disagree about taking way to many callers. I listen a lot and there are many days that they go long stretches without taking any callers. Sometimes I wonder if anyone is listening, but apparently they are.
