there is no reason to complain about v-span in this thread. He is not whining about playing time, previously he was. I applaud his enthusiasm. I hope he stays for the summer league, and next year I think he will see more action
What I want to know is will Vspan play on the Rockets Summer League team? Or will he go back to Greece over the summer? If he wants to make it on the Rockets and in the NBA, he is going to have to play in the summer leagues to make the adjustments. There is no other way around it.
VSpan is a great guy, JVG just does not like him. My belief in Span is still strong, maybe Rockets is a wrong team for him. You can do nothing without decent minutes. Most fans who follow international basketball games think Span deserves respect and minutes. but most NBA only fans did not see Span on court, and they only know his turnovers and bad shots in garbage time. That is not fair. If JVG gets his contract extended, Span should find another team. Not a single European player ended up well with JVG. Yao is a different story, he is the special rare creature from China. What we can see?, size, skills and, of cause, the biggest market in the world.
Well I don't know if JVG likes him or not but I also kinda believe that the Rockets were not the best team for him in terms of his play fitting in. So he would definately have needed an adjustment period but I think he can make it next year. If the Rockets wanted someone to come in and make a difference immediately, the def. picked the wrong Greek player. (it's too bad the right one never wants to play in the NBA )
I hope Span didn't say anything stupid in his blog. Otherwise fools like doublehh03 will say things like "greeks shouldn't talk about basketball if they don't know ****s about it".
Well, you can read it ...The older ones too if you look at the forum.... But no, he doesn't. He's got a decent brain on him Greeks thankfully know a fair amount of basketball....Hence the individual and team success they've had over the years for such a small country (Remember, the whole of greece has less inhabitants than New York)
I know he probably didn't. My post is to show how stupid it was for doublehh03 to target on the whole race of people in another thread because he saw one person make up some factional stuffs in his blog. I respect every race of people, including the Greeks. You can count on that.
Thanks for the nice translation! I think it would be a tragedy if VSpan quits and goes back to Europe. He's not gonna improve there... other than financially. If anything VSpan should just be traded for his sake, to a struggling team who needs a PG. Maybe somewhere in the East.. I dunno, maybe help out Mo Williams at Milwaukee?
Why would you start that again here? This is a positive thread regarding interaction with fans by Vspan, with nothing in it that requires drudging up "old $#@!". Come on, you're better than this, right?
It's not a popularity contest... and I doubt his personal feelings are the real reason he doesn't see more time here. He needs to be patient... and it seems he has learned that to an extent. I hope he is patient enough to give the rockets a chance to develop his potential. As for the comment about a "Bidding war" in Greece, I find it hard to believe that money would be his reason for leaving.
