This is just more of that typical rubbish nanny-state bureaucracy bullsh. Attempting to abdicate personal choice and responsibility by 'blaming' some kind of inanimate object for behaviors and choices. Just say no to the nannies!
Interesting comment... was the article government sponsored? Didn't the FDA approved it? I'm not quite sure I understand your line of thinking.
Um, the government is the biggest purveyor of nanny-state thinking. Or rather, I should say, there are many people within the government who subscribe to the theory that people are too stupid to take care of themselves, and can't be trusted to make their own decisions, and therefore the government HAS to step in and micromanage our lives - *for our own good*. People who agree with that kind of thinking should be fed to rabid jellyfish.
I'm still confused about how you associated all this with the big bad "govberment" when it didn't need to be, but thanks for saving us. I'd be lost over wise.
The gooberment (government) is in bed with the FDA to make money for the pooperations (i.e. corporations) pushing stuff like this to make money. Then, the pooperations poop money on the gooberment. They don't care if it makes the people poopy. The very name Splenda came from the following saying: Splend all day pooping on the toilet. They are laughing all the way to the bank while the people are making poopy.
