You know...it is possible to be a Republican and not like Bush. It is possible to not like Bush but like McCain. I realize that you and others on this board believe that McCain is a carbon copy of Bush. I believe that different facts will be borne out over time.

Here's for hoping for the best for our nation in November. If Obama gets elected and ends up being a great President, I will be the first one to proclaim that I was wrong...and I'll be happy about it.

Well if they are polling people just walking on the street there are sure to be more Democrats. All the Republicans would be in their buildings working hard to destroy the earth or our rights or plotting to drink up Iraq's milkshake.
Kidding aside, seems like the poll wasn't the most scientific. I'm not saying Obama doesn't have a lead, it just seems the Gallup polls would be more accurate than this.

It would take a catastrophic meltdown ala Howard Dean for Obama to lose this election. Good news imo... hope he lives up to, or comes close to living up to the hype.

Personally, I don't think his lead is nearly this large.

Quite frankly, I'm rather scared of an inexperienced senator from one of the most notoriously corrupt areas in this Country whose track record has been borderline extreme Liberal becoming Commander-in-Chief.

I'm also disappointed in McCain becoming less of a moderate than he has been in the past.

Time will tell when the debates start. Obama better be practicing. He hasn't been good at talking on the fly.

Considering that they're professional pollsters, I'm pretty sure they adjusted their results to reflect exactly who they found - I don't know this for a fact, but I'm pretty sure it's the job of a pollster to do so.

Once again - your understanding of the way polls & statistical sampling & related matters works appears a bit limited.

Granted. My only point is that we are assuming facts not in evidence. Specifically that the pollsters did a good job, or that they even cared to do a good job.

A poll showing either candidate with a 15 point lead will generate a lot of webhits and sell a lot of magazines.

Well we're always assuming facts not in evidence here, I mean I've never met GW Bush so I don't know that he exists - I do know that saying "oh the poll was unbalanced and they made no adjustments" given that it is a pollsters job to do such and they get paid 100's of 1000's to do it is probably a bad assumption.

I'm not really assuming anything. Well...I am assuming that it is a long way to the election, and that these numbers will be somewhat fluid until then. It could end up a dead heat, or Obama could end up with a 20 point win. Who really knows at this point.
