Here are some pics of the transformers in disguise, IE the cars and vehicles they are using for the movie. Apparently Bumblebee has been turned into a Camero. Some people are saying that they can't get Volkswagen to let them use their car in the movie because the robots use guns or something. I think those people are just passing along rumors because I don't think they'd pass on this kind of exposure.

Bumblebee starts off as a classic but junky camero:

In the movie, Shia Lebouf gets bumblbee as his first car and some how manages to fix him up and turn him into the new Camero concept car  :

Falcon's Talon will like this, this is Decepticon named Brawl who looks like he'll be a Mustang and a police car ( I think I see some cobra logos on the rims, but I don't think it's the new Shelby Cobra Mustang):

Another Decepticon, a tank named Devastator:

More info and pics including some stuff about the script and what Megatron will be can be found at this link: http://aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=23472

they are really screwing this up (figures, since it's Michael Bay). Bumblebee is the gay transformer. how can he be a damn camaro? he shouldn't be more than a Prius or Civic

i've read (most likely rumors) Bumblebee's is gonna be mute too.

here's another total ****-up if you grew up with the Transformers. There aren't any Decepticons that are cars, not that i recall. If you're gonna have a Mustang police car, at least make it Prowl. He'd be a perfect fit.

And Devastor is a tank? I thought that's what Megatron was supposed to be.

I miss you more then Michael Bay missed the mark
    When he made Pearl Harbor
I miss you more than that movie missed the point
And that’s an awful lot girl
And now, now you’ve gone away
And all I’m trying to say is
Pearl Harbor sucked, and I miss you

I need u like Ben Affleck needs acting school
He was terrible in that film
I need u like Cuba Gooding needed a bigger part
He’s way better than Ben Affleck
And now all I can think about is your smile
    and that ****ty movie too
Pearl Harbor sucked and I miss you

Why does Michael Bay get to keep on making movies?
    I guess Pearl Harbor sucked
Just a little bit more than I miss you

Actually mac, the Decepticons developed the Stunticons, a set of car Decepticons that merged to form a larger robot. Menasor or something like that.

The Autobot counterparts were the Aerialbots, the Autobot planes who created Superion.

Yeah, I watched them every day growing up.

i must have been playing outside during those episodes b/c i don't remember teh Stunticons. i do remember the aerialbots though. still, the prevalent image of Autobots is cars (with the occasional dinosaur :p ), thus the name Autobots. i just think all the changes plus Michael Bay will only equal a collosal cluster****.

I didn't remember them either and thought they were from a later cartoon or something but they were actually introduced as toys in 1986 according to Wikipedia. Not sure if I was still watching then but it was earlier than I guessed.

A tank would be fine with me, I think that's what the current gen of transformers does with him. Even when I was a little kid, I remember thinking it was silly that he shrank down to a handgun.

Jeez some of you guys are as bad as the fanboys in the talkbacks on aint-it-cool. You do realize this is a show that was inspired by a toy line right? Not exactly in the same league as X-Men, Spiderman or Batman canon. And yes, I did grow up watching Transformers.

Bumblebee can't be a VW bug cause Volkswagon doesn't allow the use of their cars for war purposes. And honestly I don't think a beetle would fit into the context of the story as far as adapting the source material. If you're a teenage boy getting your first car, which would you choose: a beetle or a camaro. Pretty easy choice, at least for me (the camaro obviously). I like the fact that Bumblebee is a rusted, bondo infested old camaro. It still fits with the character. And Shia Lebouf doesn't fix him up into the new camaro. According to the story, Bumblee is f***ed up by Brawl, the cop car desepticon and he is rebuilt (by who I dunno) into the new camaro. Yeah a suspension of belief is needed a little here, but we are talking about cars that morph into giant robots. As for Lebouf, anybody who rags on his abilities hasn't seen him outside Even Stevens. He can act. Whether he fits a serious action role, time will tell.

As for Megatron. I never really liked the fact that he was a gun; thought it was pretty stupid. Plus, if he remained a gun they couldn't create a toy for him off the film. Therefore, rightfully so, he was changed to a tank.

And you know what, I also have no problem with the autobots and decepticons being both cars and planes and tanks and whatever the hell else. It makes a little more sense if you think about it. Why should one side be relegated to a specific vehicle.

Point is guys, you should be happy. They're making a transformers movie, where we will get to see vehicles morhp into huge robots that beat the living s*** out of each other and destroy a part of the world with 'em. How cool is that! And I couldn't think of a better director than Michael Bay (and it is being exec produced by Spielberg lest you forget), who is the essence of big, loud explosions and popcorn fun.

Me too and the Stunitcons were introduced fairly early on, 2nd season I think. I am a huge transformers fan but I'm not going to rag on Bay just yet because he's changing some of the character's alternate forms.

i thought it was from the comics as well my neighbor and i growing up had all the issues between us. but i am not super positive i just know the comic book and the tv series had different story lines (one of my favorite issues is when megatron and ratchet melted into one another)

Despite the changes to the characters (Soundwave no longer a tape deck? I know you need to update it but c'mon..) I'm cautiously optimistic. Face it, Transformers never ='d deep plots so I'm sure Bay can knock together a plot, give it a gloss of explosions, action/chase scenes, and special effects, and make $250 million.

Between this and Halo, next year might be pretty good for "epic action-adventure" movies.
