Sequels On May 30, 2007, Dreamworks greenlit two sequels to Transformers, and Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox and Peter Cullen signed on to return. Producer Tom DeSanto has envisioned a storyline introducing the Dinobots, the Constructicons, and Soundwave. Writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman may not return, as "Star Trek... is taking up kind of all of our time."Michael Bay has not signed on, "trying to keep some leverage for the negotiations", but already has ideas, including an aircraft carrier character.
I'm guessing people saying 'too cheesy' (which I knew it had some parts like that, but far from overdone) don't know much about Transformers. If anything, being very familiar with the old cartoons and a little familiar with the ones that came later, I was really worried the cheese would be poured on too thick. I was happy to see that wasn't the case. I think they did a great job; very well balanced despite my fears. Then you throw in the references, the effects and the action and it's a very fun summer movie. Glad to see so many people like it, and that there are sequels on the way.
It was a freaking fun ass movie. I'm not sure what I was expecting going in, I guess knowing and accepting that it wasn't going to be the G1 Transformers I grew up, I was able to enjoy it for what it was. I don't want to hear that you need to "turn your brain off" and just enjoy it. If there is a part of you anywhere that is still 12, and I know we all have it, you should enjoy this movie. I can't remember the last time I came out of a movie with a big grin on my face. Even though I was a little sad to see what happened to you know who in the final battle. Definately got to watch it again.
man, i was hoping for some awesome trailers (especially the Dark Knight) before the movie. too bad they pretty much all sucked.
huh. It was actually one of the few times I was interested in all the trailers before the movie. Especially that Cloverfield thing.
You must not have seen the same trailers as me... "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry," "Superbad," Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson's "The Pacifier" meets "Big Daddy" ripoff...the ONLY good trailer was the first one that I can't remember if it had a title yet but it was by J.J. Abrahms and it ended abruptly.
Oh, that sucks. No, we didn't have any of that. The Abrahms thing was once called Cloverfield but is currently untitled. The rest, though was completely different.
Spoiler Did Anyone catch Starscream flying into space at the end of the movie? Can't wait for the sequel.
Yeah, when I was walking out of the movie one of my friends said there were cheesy lines but it was appropriate because that's some of the stuff that would actually happen in the original cartoon. It's like paying homage to the show. I'm not about to dissect it like I was watching an arthouse flick.
It was awesome! I was really disappointed with almost all of the big summer blockbusters but this movie saved the summer... I also had very high expectations and this movie really exceeded every one of my expectations. As many have already stated I was giddy watching the movie. It truly was a great roller coaster ride of a summer movie. I felt like every single part of the movie clicked. The action was incredible. I do not remember the last time I felt that way walking out of a movie. The crowd at the theater was totally into the movie (which made the overall experience that much more enjoyable). The characters all played their parts perfectly. I think Shia Labuff is going to be a huge star for the next 20 + years. Megan Fox also helped herself in this role. I think we are going to be seeing a lot more of her in future movies. I cant wait till the Camaro comes out in 2009.... That is one hot looking car. I cant wait to see the movie again!!!
Wouldn't Dinobots have a little trouble disguising themselves? Oh that's not a transformer, that's a T-Rex... uh huh.
it was good, but i didn't think i was that great. they deviated from the original story too much and the spark thing plot... don't like like it.
Is Cloverfield official, maybe a codename. Parasite is another name I've heard for it. The idea is for it to be a monster movie bought shot entirely with hand held consumer cameras from the character's pov. Basically, it's like Blair Witch but with an actual monster.
the original story being....giant transforming robots crash on earth and fight each other every time they see each other? think they got that part down.
