So what were you expecting? I thought it was really good. The best "summer" movie that I've seen this summer.
It laid the cheese on a little too thick for one thing. John Turturo's character was annoying and unnecessary. If you're going to go for comic relief, let's at least make it funny. So, that means no autobots pissing on anyone. Who wouldn't notice five big ****ing robots in their backyard? Or some ****ing robot walking away from a plane? **** like that.
I didn't dig the pissing scene. As for the other, I was able to put reality aside and believe there were giant alien robots that were alive, doing all kinds of wacky things.
Well, duh. It's one thing to accept that they're there, another to expect that they wouldn't be noticed all standing around in someone's backyard.
BADASS. I' am not a Michael Bay fan at all. But this flick was so damn cool that it covers up the same rehashed formula of all "Summer Blockbusters". Also not a big fan of overdone CGI, but damn. That was the best CGI of any film up to date. All the action movie cliches actually doesn't ruin the movie. Maybe I ' am just a big Transformers fan but I' am not being biased.
i just saw it tonight. it was f$#king awesome. i had fairly high expectations after reading some reviews but it blew them away. it's nowhere near my favorite move or anything like that, but for a mindless summer blockbuster it's as good as i've ever seen. they made hd-dvd's and blu-ray's specifically for this movie i think. it's gonna look amazing. on another note, i wonder what the numbers on this thing are going to be? i've never seen so many people at the movies in my life. i went to edwards and they had signs on the door saying all showings where sold out, so we drove over to amc 30 and luckily they added 3 extra showtimes. i didn't realize it was that big a deal.
You forgot the most important part. IT'S THE F'N TRANSFORMERS!!! And they did it w/ a great balance of realism and 80's fantasy that lots of us had when we saw it as kids. This movie was incredible. I could nitpick on parts (the house search for the glasses felt like 1/2 hr) but overall it surpassed by expectations by a longshot. I couldn't help but grin ear to ear every time Optimus Prime transformed. It made me realize he's probably the most iconic cartoon hero of my childhood.
i'll go just a notch over "eh". i'll give it a thumbs up though. maybe it was teh Imax screen, but i found myself many times saying, "wait, who was that? what just happened?" oh yea, the ****ing audio was screwing up too. what was the point of Anthony Anderson? and serious question, what happened to Starscream? Spoiler i don't remember him getting killed, and if he didn't, it's like he just decided to leave the fight. i really can't remember. please answer in a spoiler tag. there wasn't enough of megatron either.
For macalu: Spoiler In the 3rd clip they showed during the ending credits, they showed him breaking from earth's orbital and blasting off into space.
Probably Greatest Action movie of all time for me. This movie had everything, suspense, romance, comedy, drama, and of course Action. Saddest part was when Bumblebee was trapped by them MFer police and army. I think everyone felt for him like a human being. Everyone needs to buy the Transformers Dvd when it comes out to savour it for eterenity!
I think the cheesy dialog actually helps this movie. I mean, it's a cartoon turned into a live action flick. IT would of been more laughable (in a bad way) if it had a realistic and serious tone. I mean, look at Pearl Harbor. Yuck.
