I rewatched my favorite, the Rick Hunter Macross portion of Robotech, recently and there are tons of deaths in that thing. I could see them taking the basic plot line and turning it into a massive budget summer flick
There's nothing soap opera-like about Jackie Chan action.. or Terminator 2... or.. Predator... or... Bloodsport.. or... Rambo.. etc
New Transformers Photos Source: Paramount Pictures January 23, 2007 DreamWorks Pictures has provided ComingSoon.net with new photos from the anticipated Transformers, directed by Michael Bay and executive produced by Steven Spielberg. Our world will be transformed on July 4 when aliens make Earth their final battleground in "Transformers." As the forces of evil seek the key to ultimate power, our last chance for survival rests in the hands of young Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf). The film also stars Tyrese Gibson, Josh Duhamel, Anthony Anderson, Rachael Taylor, Megan Fox, John Turturro and Jon Voight.
I didn't post that one because I had posted it already: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=2667883&postcount=174
Aw dang..how quickly I forget. But I'll still stand by what I said...I was hoping for actual transformers shots, not human ones...could care less about the humans.
Except for John Turturro (who I can only assume wants to cash in on at least one movie this year), this cast sucks hard. I already know Optimus Prime will be the best actor of the bunch. But I'll still be first in line for tickets because it's the freaking Transformers.
to be honest if the human characters take up more than 50% of screen time then the movies in trouble anyway. That being said Bay and the producers say that this movie is about the robots not the humans, so we'll see
And to be fair, Shia LaBouf is a pretty decent actor, just not A-lister....and I'd imagine the reason they assembled a cast like this instead of an Ocean's 11 caliber ensemble is to not draw attention away from the lead characters in the film.
did they really say this? i hope they did, because everything we've seen from the trailer and everything i've been reading has made it sound like bay is focusing on this boy's coming of age, getting his first car and girlfriend, and robots happen to be there.
oops. meant to quote Grendal. "That being said Bay and the producers say that this movie is about the robots not the humans, so we'll see" where did bay say that?
