I've got a 6 year old nephew here that is killing me...We downloaded Itunes so we could watch the Spidy 3 trailer but it only loads up about 10%.and stops. If anybody has it (legal or illeagle I'm ignorant of the law) perhaps in a copied torrent or something It would get his little 40 lbs. off my back. Rick! Rick! Riiiiiiiiiiiick!

It's the symbiote (sp?). The teaser of Sandman was awesome. What in the world is Gwen Stacy doing in this movie? I thought they skipped her. It would be corny if the 2nd Goblin killed her in SM3.
I don't think we'll see much Venom in this. It may be too much to fit into one movie. Likely a Green Goblin II/Sandman teamup with Peter/Symbiote the dominant storyline. Likely anything Venom would be at the end, setting up another film.
I have a feeling that Spidey may need to take advantage of his Venom powers to defeat the Green Goblin and Sandman. At the end of the movie, you will see signs of Venom taking over, which brings us to Spiderman IV.
saw the teaser last night before superman. and the whole theater erupted as it ended and kept cheering and clapping. when they showed the trailer for the ant bully we all started booing and started to chant to show the spidey trailer again.
Will there even be a Spiderman IV? I thought the main actors had only signed on for three movies and no more. Or something like that.
As long as Spiderman III sells, there'll be a "IV" IMO. The actors aren't contractually obligated, but the money will be there. Even if Tobey doesn't sign on, he can be replaced.
Kirsten Dunst has made some noise about wanting out after Spider-Man 3. I think that's a big reason they're introducing Gwen Stacy in the next film. That way they have a replacement love interest instead of having to recast MJ.
I'm not sure if anything has changed since this report, but Sam Raimi had previously noted that Sony wants to make 6 Spider-Man movies (and that he might do the next 3 if he feels strongly about them): http://www.movieweb.com/news/24/7724.php The date on the article is over a year old though, so like I said, things may have changed since then. Still, I doubt Sony could resist making at least another Spider-Man movie...even if that means getting a new director and actors unfortunately.
good information. i trust raimi. but geez...6?? i wouldn't be excited about them bringing in someone else. maguire plays parker very well.
Maguire plays meek high school nerd Peter Parker very well, but his college-age version is lacking. Raimi has delivered so far, and if he stays on there's no reason to believe the series will jump the shark with a second trilogy. There is a wealth of material to draw from the 40-year history of the character, and he has proven to have a deep respect for it. As long as he's at the helm, there is no way Spidey suffers the same fate as the Batman movies.
you thought he was lacking in 2??? man, i didn't see that at all. i think you'd be hard-pressed to find an actor like maguire pull of parker any better than he's being pulled off right now...and i think that's a HUGE reason why these movies are a success. he's believable as you can possibly hope for in a superhero role.
Money alone will warrant a 4th Spidey flick. The 3rd one would have to suck major donkey b@lls to not gross at least 300-325 mil. It'll probably open with at least half that amount based on the insane response the teaser got last night.

I wish I could have seen what they showed at Comicon. Apparently they show a mini teaser/trailer that's got some unfinished effects, but basically it's MINOR SPOILERS Topher Grace as Eddie Brock in a church praying for God to help him by killing Peter Parker when suddenly the symbiote or whatever it is in this movie drips on him and starts to consume him and you have a Raimi shot of the camera pulling in real fast and you see Venom, big sharp teeth and all for a split second as the camera pulls into his mouth.
