My wife says that they typically eat it with a bechamel sauce with salt and pepper. She says it has the consistancy of gelatin but that you can still tell it is a meat. Puke.

I definitely dig the lefsa. Swedes and Norwegians have very similar diets. You guys should come over sometime when the wifey goes all out Swedish style. It rocks.

Here is another not going to eat it Swedish food:

Surströmming - Surströmming ("soured (Baltic) herring") is a northern Swedish dish consisting of fermented Baltic herring.

She says that it smells so bad that they have to open it under water and even then it smells the whole area up. My buddy and I call it GT or Garbage Trout. Basically you throw a fish in the dumpster and eat it several weeks later.

That would be awesome dude! Shan has some Swedish blood in her as well. Probably why we have similar personalities.

That reminds me of what a co-worker said once when I saw her putting hot sauce on popcorn and eating it : "That's right - I'm ghetto". LOL.

Yeah, I've been to Swoly's place though and he has a nice house in the burbs... so I guess he is allowed to do it as long as he pours them onto a plate first. :D

I'm kind of surprised at all the Sriracha fans. I guess it's more mainstream than I thought. I use that stuff like ketchup.

I go through hot sauce like water.

Of course, as I live in the Midwest right now I find there are WIDELY varying definitions of spicy.

Some of what people and/or restaurants consider "very spicy", I barely detect a hint of spice on.

Who else has tried "Dave's Insanity Sauce" before?

Neat trick I picked up when living in France was heating chips in the oven.

Place chips on baking sheet, insert in oven for 5 min at 300 degrees, put chips in bowl. Best way to eat chip IYAM.

Two ways of looking at "spicy" food

    Spicy: as in heat/peppers

Spice: as in dried seed, fruit, root, bark, leaf, or vegetative substance used in nutritionally insignificant quantities as a food additive for the purpose of flavor

Both : Hell yes, otherwise you get some of the most bland, unpalatable food known to man, the uses of spices shows a creative ability , any monkey can grill some meat.
