I LOVE the flavor of spicy foods, I don't like the extreme heat (depending on the dish of course) that comes with it, if that makes any sense. I need to wear a headband whenever I eat the slightest of spicy foods. I think I have that severe sweating disease (I also sweat easily when playing sports). Chinese and Indian top the list.
Yoyo, I want everything you listed in the OP. I friggin' love Indian, Thai, spicy Mexican, anything spicy. I'm totally making something spicy tonight.
Lutefisk comes from my wifes part of the world and no, they do not like spicy food at all. They eat tons of bland meats and potatoes with lots of cream sauces. It isn't that their food sucks because some of it is really good. Some of it is complete crap too. I haven't tried lutefisk and I have zero interest in trying it either. My wife says it is terrible.
I will try your Sriracha if you try my Pico de Gallo. I see that sometime soon I will no longer need to post here since some of you green-go's think it's funny to be messin' with my posting styles. Ay, si tú, mister hurt feelings Nice touch on the "Jotos", I think that's MoBalls' word. I said nice touch. Miguel, aren't you Colombiano? Don't let me down. Hit the spicy sh_t!
A guy named Miguel who hates spicy food... always gotta be the black sheep don't you, peñdejo? My extended family is from North Dakota where like Jeremiah said, Ketchup is considered hot sauce. The Mexican restaurants up there suck balls. I grew up in California and my older brother was into spicy food. I started dousing my tacos with tabasco and fresh jalapenos when I was 8 years old. Also love spicy Thai food, don't really eat a lot of Indian food, But if its spicy odds are I'll enjoy it.
I've never had lutefisk myself but have been meaning to try it. I hear traditionally it is smothered in horseradish to hide the taste but friends of mine who have eaten it eat it straight up. Practically everyone I've talked to eat it out of family obligation and not because they like it. It seems more like a Scandanavian right of passage thing, like going on a vision quest or getting circumcised, than a food that you enjoy.
I'm Norwegian and Lutefisk and Lefsa are a huge part of Norwegian heritage. I ate plenty of Lefsa, but thankfully we were never forced to eat Lutefisk. A fish soaked in lye? Yuck.
I LOVE spicy food. I'm half-Korean, so that's a no brained for me. Kimchi jigae is probably my favorite dish, hands down.
Spicy food is the best. I can't stand bland crap! Indian, Thai, Cajun/Creole, etc. are my favorites. And by spicy, I don't mean just putting pepper on it or it being just hot. That's not spicy... that's just... peppery.
For those of you that like Spicy and Tangy stuff, I highly recommend: + = Lay's Limón Chips + Tajín Salsa = HEAVEN (not clouds )
I don't get the whole thing about Lime + Spicy really. I like Key Lime Pie, I like Spicy food. I don't really enjoy them as a united entity.
My mouth just started to drool. I LOVE Lime chips...unfortunately, I stopped eating chips for a while but yes, I love those. I haven't heard of that combo though...I do have Tajin at home so I'll try that if I ever buy Lime chips.
Why, YES. Yes, I am. I didn't mean like that, you nincompoop (i just wanted to say poop ). I mean pour out the chips onto a plate or bowl, then pour the Tajín salsa--not the powder kind, mind you--over the chips... enjoy. This is Mrs. SwoLy's favorite late-night snack. And, yes, too much "hurts" later. Please eat Mexican stuff responsibly.
