Well I have an arraignment Monday. Should I just ask then?

Ive never had a ticket in Humble before, and I haven't had a ticket overall, anywhere in about 4 years.

Oh yea, if you're docket's coming up Monday just ask in person. You should have no problems.

I got a ticket once in Brenham, though, my first in awhile, back in 98 or 99. I wrote in asking for deferred and got shot down pretty quick. So I hired local counsel on the advice of someone with the firm I was clerking for. The local attorney was able to get deferred for me easily, so I'm convinced that there was some sort of bias towards the local bar. Hopefully, Humble doesn't have the same sort of policy.

So I can ask for deferred adjudication or disposition??

If the judge shoots me down, should I go ahead and pleade no guilty and then hire council??

I was thinking of going in tomorrow and resetting my court date and going ahead and hiring a friend of mine's attorney who handles alot of traffic cases.

Disposition. If you're going in anyway and know you want deferred, ask for it. No need to spend $ on an attorney if you know what you want, unless you encounter some sort of obstacle.
