Drivers like you irritate me more than speeders do.

LEFT LANE is for PASSING ONLY.

I would rather they start ticketing drivers who hold up traffic in the fast lane. Massachusetts has plenty of these. Very common to travel faster in the right lane in this state compared to the left one.

I'd rather someone speed at 85 then see anymore of these people going 5-10mph under the speed limit. Far far more dangerous. Not to mention that 90% of them are yapping on the phone or texting.

    There's a happy medium. 98 is idiotic.

Agreed. The ****ing morons sitting in the left lane are so ****ing oblivious; they haven't the faintest idea that they're causing a traffic jam miles behind them because they won't get the **** out of the way.

That's the entire reason for traffic. If you didn't have something, or someone impeding the flow of traffic, we wouldn't have backups. In fact, speed limits cause traffic. We should force people to drive faster. If we did that, the only impediments to traffic would be things like the grade of the road, turns, and so on.

In my country, if I'm caught doing 100 mph I would get an police baton up the rectum. I would be happy to pay a fine and walk away.

I'd like them to raise the speed limit to 85 or even 90.
I would NOT like them to do it like the autobahn.

For however many responsible drivers that will go as fast as they know they can go, there will be complete morons barreling down the road at 110-120 and killing themselves and others because they were going too fast on turns.

Enforced speed limits on turns, no speed limits on straightaways (or at least higher speed limits) seem to be more reasonable.

Also. Minimum speed limits. Please. If you want to go slow then do it on the ****ing frontage road.

What they got you for is failure to control speed. You were unable to control you car at the rate of speed you were going and had a accident. The key word here is accident. It does not matter if you were going a 100 mph or 5 mph.

Why not take away control from drivers when they're on freeways? As in, why not force all traffic to go 120 MPH? Technology in automobiles is amazing these days. You've seen that manufacturers have developed systems for automatically braking, and others have developed sensors that can keep a car in its own lane. Why not have the freeways send data about traffic to vehicles and have vehicles adjust their speed and spacing according to that data?

We all talk about solutions to traffic. We talk about building light rail, and increasing efficiency. In a city like Houston, why not turn automobiles into light rail? Get vehicles moving down the road faster. Put them on cruise control and we'll all pay less at the pump. We have the technology, but we're stiffled by a government that hasn't the faintest clue how to solve the problems set before us.

Their only solution is to keep making freeways wider, and somehow they're always built with some stupid design flaws that cause traffic.

Half the cars on the road won't even go 120. Stupid design flaws.

Why stop there? I mean, why aren't we driving hover cars?

There will be a day, CrazyDave. ;)

To me, your post sounds like an oldtimer 20 years ago saying that the internet was just a fad.

Which court you going to? At Lubbock by downtown I was able to take defensive drive four times in one year. They made me pay $150 for the opportunity to take it since I already took it once that year.

Safety features are not sufficient enough for those speeds. They are not sufficient for the speeds we do now...
