I would rather them sign JL3 back after the 10th for a few 10 days. With everyone coming back off the injured list we wont need LaFrenz
LaFrenz is bigger, slightly more productive Scott Padgett. His contract is huge considering what he bring. Just say no!!
Latest rumor is Artest for Troy Murphy. I don't see why Indy needs Troy Murphy when they have Jermaine O'Neal. Maybe we can 3-way our expirings and a young guy like Swift, and get Murphy and Croshere. La Frentz - no thanks. Ridiculous contract.
The Rockets don't need Raef at all. WE need to get healthy and get Barry and Anderson back then make our run. I like our team as is and if Yao can return sooner than later I like our chances alot as a playoff team. Go Rockets!!!
That is interesting...and I think that countingcrow has been around a LITTLE too long for people to just assume he's making something up. Thanks for the post.
I keep wondering about that Artest/Murphy deal. I believe Murphy is a BYC player. More than likely a third team would have to get involved. Why would Indiana want Murphy? Maybe they want to plant him at center. As you mention, Murphy'd be a better fit for OUR team: a 4/5 who hits the three and won't get jumbled up with Yao.
Celtics GM Danny Ainge, in his weekly radio appearance on WEEI, hinted Indiana's price for Ron Artest might well be Paul Pierce. -- Boston Globe Found this on CNN Sports Truth & Rumors. There has been speculation about Pierce being available. Could we somehow end up with Artest and have to absorb LaFrenz's contract for Boston?
Murphy does not fit our team. He doesn't defend or rebound and he's overpaid. If we are going to shell out that kind of money for a PF, he needs to average 17 and 12 with 2 blocks per game. Otherwise, we're better off to stick with what we've got. Our biggest weakness is not our 4 spot right now. It's our perimeter defense.
Um...those types of players don't grow on trees. Heck, KG doesn't even do that. Neither does Duncan (not enough boards, but close), who is closer to a center, anyway. For that matter, only 3 players in the entire league average over 12 boards a game, and only 12 over 2 blocks, and neither of the two who do both (Camby / Wallace) are great scorers or PF's. I know what you are getting at, but you may want to lower your expectations there. As for LaFrentz...I really don't see how he helps all that much, especially with his contract.
If Boston is anywhere in the mix for a Rox deal it would have to be Blount, and possibly Green for expirings. Is SS were jettisoned it might make sense. Raef should have been cut when The Brat had his chance last summer.
Murphy is currently scoring 16.6 pts and pulling 8.6 rebounds/game on 35 min. He is a heady, tough player that coaches like. However, as you note He is a below average defender, not athletic and injury prone. He is light years better than Stromile Swift, and would represent a tremendous improvement to the front line, with an opportunity still to teach him better defense. His reputation is that he is very coachable.
my only question is WHy in hell would a Rockets brass be hanging out at a podunk junior college like SanJac? Are we truely so badoff that we are scouting juco players? dont get me wrong, SanJac has always had a strong bball program(I aught to know, I went there when Sam was there)...but somehow or another I find it hard to believe anyone outside of a low ranking scout would be there.
yes I know but I wasnt attending the school when Steve was there...I was during Sam's tenure, therefore, I mentioned it.
