I live right across the street from the mid-town Spec's (Smith and McGowen) and it really can't be beat. Has everything you need.
yup, that specs is the greatest and their selection as others said is tough to beat. we went to a strangest beer contest and i bought Suprema there and i won for best tasting! their deli in the downtown Smith one is good too.
Can you do us all a favor and stop ruining jokes. I can't even laugh at that joke anymore because of you.
Awwww ^... you think of me when someone says "that's what she said... how cute!" Muahahahahahaha... I'm in you mind! Sure. I'll stop. 'Cuz it's you.
Free samples? At a liquor store?? No such luck at the Kingwood location. You should have seen that place the day before Ike hit. LOL. God bless Texas.
One of the first couple times I went to the mid-town Specs I was just shopping and some lady was like "tequila?" I was kinda confused at first, best sample ever!
Spec's is NOTHING like Wal-mart.........at least not the one downtown. The guys in the wine department are easy going, approachable, and they really know their ****.
I look at liquor the same way I look at anything in Walmart. You better know what the heck you want and need beforehand. Buyer beware. Do your own homework. Johnny stocks the grapes and cheese, he doesn't share your taste buds.
So, how does this whole sample thing work? I went into the Midtown location yesterday and I saw all these people walking around with wine glasses. Is it common practice to bring in your own glass or do they give you one? What days do they usually do the samples? Just asking because I would like to stop by when I have more time..
They have a wine tasting every so often, once a month I think. You pay a fee for a glass and get to walk around and taste all the different wines they have that day.
