I think last year and this year, if he doesn't land in LA or Cleveland, probably has softened his stance. His resume is not such where he can just take a job whenever he feels like it.

Besides, this is McHale's last year of his contract. The Rockets may not have a habit of firing coaches, but they also have no habit of retaining coaches beyond their 4 year contracts. Hollins will have first crack at the HC job here in a year.

If Hollins does not come here because McHale is our head coach, heads need to roll!! Although I cannot see Hollins being stupid enough to 'serve' under Morey, I just cannot see it..

Will you draw back under the bridge you came from if he does sign here?

    This would be awesome.

Hollinger is an idiot as GM. Hollins can see that Morey has his **** together.

    Keep pushing Houston!

Honestly you shouldn't even bother these guys out of respect.

JVG & Karl are the definition of overqualified. Plus conflicting basketball philosophies I'm certain even though JVG has seemed to change his tune over the past few years watching the NBA game progress to a different style.

JVG has it made with his commentary gig as well. He's pretty much the face of ESPN basketball commentary, and they would pay big bucks to keep him in that seat. He's not leaving unless its for a high profile head coaching gig. If the Rockets did away with McHale after this year, I wouldn't be shocked if Morey approached him about making a comeback, but unless they felt like he was 100% ready for it, there isn't much of a point, and they'd have to know that he's completely changed his tune with the style of play he's accustomed to coaching.... which was sort of stuck in the 90's and led to him getting canned for Adelman.

Hollins and Brown are good candidates because its a way for them to prove themselves again. They both are younger and have alot left to prove & need a platform to show that they can do more than they've done in previous stints.

Overqualified coach? Really? What exactly is the consequence for having a coach overqualified coach? lol. George Karl should be coaching this team right now. The only reason he's not is because our GM wants to make coaching decisions from the skybox, and is smart enough to know he won't recieve criticism because nobody realizes he's running the show. In other words, it's all on Morey why we don't have a quality coach. We had one in Adelman, but Morey's ego ran him outta town lol

I always find these videos with the slow, moving music, set to the documentary style production of an NBA coach or something similar funny.

It's like they were narrating the story of the Chicago housing projects. It's just NBA coaching for goodness sakes.

Nonetheless, did get a good sense for him!

lebron and melo aren't going to LA or CLE, so neither will spend on hollins if they are rebuilding.

Offer him HC money and get McHale to tell him that the X's and O's are completely up to him.

he would be the best possible choice as an assistant who can eventually replace mchale.

    Dwight Howard will not approve.

I already foresee Dwight Howard crying after he gets yelled at by the coach
