The Sacramento Bee website isn't reporting Kings have been denied. This tweet might mean they haven't asked yet. Previous reports were they would wait until today or later to seek an interview

A record setting stint functioning as a replacement head coach? People watching how he handled in-game adjustments, player egos, and substitution patterns?

I was definitely impressed. I get it's a well oiled machine, but you can't just roll the basketball out there, despite what people may think.

He really communicates well with players, etc.

I'm not saying he deserves all the interest, RR, but I get where the interest originates.

Their games were actually more blowouts when Walton was coaching,

He played Draymond differently than Kerr did

i thought he did a overall good job too and can definitely can see how there's interest from teams but I'm not going to just give him credit as much as some others may. its not like kerr was completely absent from this team during that time. at the end of the day it's kerr's philosophy, system, and culture that he was overseeing. That team fresh off a title came into the year head shoulders above 99% of the league.

Teams are just looking for the next best thing that's fresh. In a time where coaching jobs are opening up left and right, its just a opportune time for him

I want JVG too but he might have players pissed off refusing to step past the half court line. If Harden has a say in this, he probably prefers Walton. Someone he respects and will get along with.

He ain't coming here. He'll go to the Lakers if he's interested in becoming a head coach.

I don't think Walton will leave GSW for either the LA, or the Houston job next year. He is more likely going to stay with the Warriors to see how Kerr's healthy hold up. Kerr is still experiencing the symptoms from the surgery, he might walk away after they win this year, or maybe next year.

For those who believe Walton hasn't proved anything, he definitely has better resume than JB, or McHale before they became the HC for the Rockets.

As for JVG, I like him holding players responsible for their actions/roles, but he hasn't show anything to prove that he can coach a non low post based offense. In two stops with the Knicks & the Rockets, his offensive strategy was basically getting the ball to Ewing/Yao, but couldn't come up with the plays to do that consistently.

I'm not sold on Walton and anyone who is, likely has overrated his contributions as a head coach to date. He took over for a team with strong vet leadership, who had just won a title, a system in place, and arguably the league's best player. He would take over a Houston team with very weak team leaders, no system, a player who could potentially be the league's best player but has questionable motivation and pride....no one knows if Walton has those skills at all...and if your going to pick an "unknown" type of guy, then the answer is probably that your money is best spent paying a relatively unknown coach a meager salary over paying Walton more than he deserves as a rookie coach and hoping some of that Golden State luck wears off on us....
