At least three remaining jobs in the market. Very likely a fourth and a small chance a fifth soon.
( rockets, kings, knicks...raptors and grizzlies).
I dont see how Casey survives another first round loss no matter what Masai says now.

Hmm, maybe Morey shouldn't wait too long on starting that interview process. Not that I was eager to have Walton here, but now we don't even have him as an option.

How will Clutchfans spin this as an indictment on Rockets team culture?

Walton & Brooks - lost a chance to interview
Thibodeau & Atkinson were never coming

Meh, not sure they really lost out on anyone.

Now that Walton is there gotta believe it will give them an advantage over getting Barnes with a max over us.

    Even more good news.

They would max both DeRozan and Barnes?

No spin necessary. It is what it is.

Honestly thought that this might be the slam dunk the team was looking for if able to hire Walton as coach.

    Haven't you heard?
We have not even started our search.
Walton is unproven. He was never going to really be in the running. Same goes for JBB.

Luke Walton maybe a questionable coach but he's not dumb. He knows Barnes is garbage, firsthand.

I know but I feel like DeRozan and Barnes would be a weak way to spend up to 48 million bucks for a rebuilding team.

If I where the Lakers, I'd focus on not giving out lengthy&large risky contracts unless they are getting a legitimate star player, give out short contracts to solid vets and develop the young guys, wait for the right FA's. Going out and blowing half the their cap on weak sauce max players seems like a loser direction for them to take.
