I think we're all just damned lucky for these World Championship (or whatever they're called) games. Battier played and showed us why he's worth having on the Rockets; Yao showed he's recovering well; and V-Span could be like having another first-rounder this year, as well as he could play for us.

Now, if we could just find a taker for JHo/Luther....

by having this performance, vspan can be top 15 pick if he appeared in this year's draft...
so itz really like we had another 1st round pick this year

I'm not quite getting what you mean by "as is" analysis honestly.. I want to speak on that but i can't and will just back up how I approached my post.
I watched the full game and posted a minute after clicking it off. I gave a straightforward plain assessment and provide blunt detail on what I saw of the positive (tough and scrappy, willingness to play defense, crafty offense, NBA quickness, acknowledging its not some fluke) and negative (shots fell in but didnt appear to be a Steve Nash marksman, portion of point total from mistakes of US, he got called with fouls way out on the perimeter). Those negatives dont sound too bad do they? He initiated the plays and still had to convert from the line (90 percent in the tourney, excellent). He was still 6-10 from the field otherwise. All aggressive plays and wasnt careless. Maybe thats too Van Gundy-ish but good or bad, well, you all get used to it! I avoided the hype and rejoicing this time.

Isnt this about how we think his actual game will translate over? Like the combo guard they picked up last year who played past expectation (Luther Head) playing the extended minutes and picking up 8 points and 3 assists and providing much needed youthful legs, that can be at least a starting point for what Spanoulis can lend. Of course if he can do more its all for the good

Will agree that he'd be in the 1st round this past year's draft. Depending on minutes at the PG or SG (if they're high on Casey Jacobson  ) and they way they use him and style of play (if Van Gundy 'lets em loose' more), he could lend as much to a team probably more than a Jordan Farmar-Sergio Rodriguez might.

I didn't catch up every VSpan posts in these recent threads so someone might asked the following question, bare with me if that's the case.

VSpan was playing like the 6th man in both Panathinaikos and Greece teams. Is this the best way to play him? Perhaps the Greece fans here could explain a bit on this? Thanks in advance.
