    1. VSPan thrives on hustle and playing with heart. That style of play translates everywhere.

    2. He just scored 22 points against elite NBA players.

"Missing Link"? Dunno. But it seems clear that he'll get some legit PT.

Now if Snyder and Novak can also be something better than scrubs, then this season could be exciting. I know we have an NBA unproven backcourt but I remain hopeful about Snyder, VSPan and Novak. All 3 of these guys are NBA unknowns but all three are primed (in their own way) to come in an contribute quickly.

Snyder: In his 3rd season, he has something to prove and will be given every opportunity to get major PT. Has the tools just needs to put it together.

VSPan: NBA unknown but a seasoned veteran.

Novak: A coaches son who knows fundamentals.

    Point taken, Yetti.

BTW - the leading scorer wasn't white, he was Euro. The back-to-back MVP wasn't white he was Canadian. The leading scorer in The Worlds'? Chinese. Greatest Rock of all time? Nigerian.

Now, in this millenium of a shrunken global sports community, is there any doubt any one play if he, or she, wants it badly enough? I mean look at Tabak and Turckan...

Agreed. NBA basketball and FIBA basketball are very different. V-Span has a big adjustment to make, but if he's good enough he'll make it and contribute.

Vspan could very well turn into the manu II on the rockets team. They seem to have a way of getting where they want to go despite not looking that quick at first glance, is not the greatest outside shooter but can hit the threes. If he does turn out to be manu II rockets just got super lucky and I am sure will win the NBA within the next three years. :D

somebody has made a 180 on this vspan thing. I remember how he didn't want this vspan white guy euro whatever on the team, or how he will never get on the team.

WOW, now he's the second coming of something real great? yeah.

stick to your guns, or say you made a mistake.

I think it's encouraging that V-Span had his best game in the most NBA-style game in the tournament.

Shows me that he is not afraid, and now that he has earned respect from the US team, he is going to be very confident coming into the league next year. I like that. I think he will be an amazing 6th man off the bench, backing up both guard spots.

    Starter by mid-season !!!!

V-Span was sandbagging the whole tournament waiting to show his REAL stuff in the biggest game !!!

That was the championship for Span and Co. !!

    Un-Freaking Believable !!!

    Stud? Dunno bout that.

But hopefully he can play 20-25mpg with a solid contribution. If he can do that, I'll be very pleased.

Sorry to rain on the parade, but I have doubts about Spanoulis after watching this game. I'm not sure how his game will transfer to the NBA. Not very quick, not a great outside shooter...one lucky game doesn't make a career.

seems he had a great game. i didnt watch it but will catch the re-run.

his performance is promising and im really excited about his potential, but to think that he will start over alston this year is just silly.

So he doesn't look very quick but the quicker US guards couln't stop him goign to where he wants to go? Is Nash super quick? What did they say about Manu when he first got to the NBA?

You do not have to always have the quickness of Iverson. Playing smart and knowing what your opponent will do is very important. He seems like a true warrior to me, until proven otherwise, I will hope for him being the next Manu.

    Not that quick?

Exactly what V-Span are you watching?

He has exceptional quickness and a very good to great 1st step. Hustles his ass off on defense and is a clutch shooter.

Even scouts say his quickness is exceptional so where some people here have started saying he is not that quick is a mistery...actually it is no mistery at all. The guy has white skin and plays on the wrong side of the Atlantic so he must be non athletic right? Please. Get past the stereo types.

What is UP - about his game Translating ???

Who did he just play against - Some of the best the NBA has to offer.

When you drop 22 bullets on the nba boys in the semis of a tourney they wanted to win BADLY !!!! I am pretty sure that translation speaks for itself - the dude has talent AND heart.

Casell isn't that quick either - He has that intangible - Quick 1st step (like vspan) just has a sneaky way of getting in the lane and finishing or getting fouled !!

Vspans game reminds me a lot of casell's !!
