One white man (Nowitzki) lead the league in PER last seaosn, and another has just won back to back MVPs. Perhaps Yetti was somehow unaware of this.
Lets get back to the topic. Spanoulis is a great player. Doesn't he remind you of Sarunus Jasikevicious of Indiana Pacers? Jasikevicious beat USA on his own when he was with Lithuania. They both have the same poise and game and both are good 3 point shooters.
I think VSpan gained some respects from his opponents today and that's good for his career in NBA. Props to the one who picked up VSpan for Rockets. I guess that's CD?
lol people getting touchy and **** he didnt express himself right, calm down guys we know what he was trying to say
I think this was mentioned in the other thread, but man what would his contract demands be if we were trying to sign him AFTER his showing today (more than half of the MLE???, full MLE???). Still happy to hear that he played so well today. Hopefully, this will translate on the court when he wears a Rockets uniform.
Is nobody else worried even a little bit about VSpan getting called for palming violations? He's euro so I'm sure the refs will be on the look out for funny business, and he tries to get away with a lot of it. One of his teammates was even worse though. He did a couple of crossovers that would have been called carry on the playground, much less high school or college or NBA. I don't know. I'm just worried that he may rely too much on the leniency of the international officiating. When he gets to the NBA he might get a little culture shock and it could honestly effect his game at first. Hopefully he would be able to make the adjustment.
I now believe that both thick jelly and jello can be obtained through the rotting of a mind and that the addition of watching Spanolis play Rybo off the court will bring great trIumph to our brains! He will be the sugar that has been missing for so many seasons and will mix the jello that will take the Rox to another Championship- What do you think? I think I'm prejudice against jelly and jello. How can this possibly be prejudice? A white person observing that both jelly and jello are now able to used as analogies for brain turning to mush. I never mentioned the fruit flavor. Ah... I'll just edit my original post and pretend nothing happened. I like jam. Jam is good. Americans and Europeans is better than black and white.
I just noticed that Vspan was able to play all those minutes and only turn the ball over once. Lebron had 4. Five more points and 3 less TOs. We have the next Lebron, only better. Forget the Lebron comparison. That was stupid, but Jeff Van Gundy likes guys who take care of the ball. We may finally have a decent European on our team.
like I said before, Alston will be warming up the bench...hopefully it will give him something to think about, so he can improve too can't wait until the season starts!
This is good news for skip too. Rafer Alston shot the ball much better when he played fewer minutes in past seasons. The depth at guard will probably help us keep up the energy next year and allow us to actually use what they call, 'the hot hand'. We, Rockets fans, have forgotten what this means to a team. We've had depth at guard a few times in history. It usually works out. Remember our championship years?
Disappointed that USA lost the game vs Greece, but as a Rox fan, I am very happy to see that V-Span demonstrated his skills and abilities in such an important game. Cannot wait to see his performance as a Roxplayer next season.
Don't get too exited about V-Span. He has to play under NBA rule, adjust to NBA refs, and NBA system. Playing well in FIBA tournament doesn't mean he will do the same in NBA. See Jasikevicius of Pacers. He seemed like a superstar in last Olymipics.
eh Jasikevicius is what? 31? was he ever given a chance to play...no not really he was always coming from the bench and he always played well for the pacers he is still good, but he just came late into the nba
Is it my imagination or did our big off season aquisition seem to shrink up in this game? It seemed like he had more fouls than points and minutes.
