Let the guy play the summer league and see how he plays.

Does "true point guard" mean somebody who lays up bricks from the outside? If so I'll pass.

Wow! I'm thinking the exact opposite. James was a great pickup for us and I'm hoping he stays with us for a while. He is a great shooter and is instant offense off the bench.

It would be good if we can continue to keep him overseas for awhile. Barry and/or Wesley will be gone in a year or two. After that, there will be room on the rotation if he can earn a spot.

Definitely keep Mike James! I hope they don't do any stupid trades in the offseason.

Now why are sending him tapes (game tapes I assume)?

    Can anyone explain that?

Mike James is reminding me more and more of Bobby Jackson. That 6th man off the bench that's instant offense. I can't think of anyone playing like him for us since Sam Cassell. We'd be stupid not to try to keep him.

The thing is, James is probably more effective when playing with Yao Ming than he is off the bench. He probably should be the starter despite the fact that Sura has added a lot of heart and rebounding. I wouldn't trade him for that reason alone. He's a perfect fit for the inside out game.

DON'T TRADE JAMES!! First of all, F*** Mark Jackson. I will celebrate the day that I don't have to see his name on this board. The guy had a great career, but he was trash when we got him, and in his best day, he was still slow with an inconsistant outside shot.

Second of all, why would you want to change anything about our point guard situation?!?!? I think the Bob Sura/Mike James rotation is working brilliantly and I want it to stay together as long as Sura can do it (eventually, he'll have to move to 2 gaurd because he'll slow down with age). Also, James reminds me of Sam Cassell when he was our 6th man. He comes into the game and our energy changes. He's great shooting from the perimiter and he's just so quick.

    Sura/James for President in '08!
