While it can't hurt playing in the summer, I promise you the thing that will help Span out the most would be PLAYING POINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    he should,

even tho it was funny, I think it was uncomfortable for Span hearing this going around

Great. It is probably one of those conversations:
Bill: ... back in Greece, I was blah blah bluh bluh...like Macgrady.
JVG didn't understand the blah bluh, so it sounded like "back in Greece, I was...like Macgrady". Great.

I've heard him in interviews, there is great potential for being "lost in translation"

During the season, you shouldn't play someone to develop them or to just get them minutes. You play to win every game. The fact is that there were better players ahead of V-Span on the depth chart. He may have more potential than Rafer and Luther, but they are better players right now. Often when V-Span played he was awful. When he got his chance, he didn't capitalize. You can put the blame all on Van Gundy. V-Span needs to be a man and assume responsibility for his play.

As for the McGrady comment, it is easy to see how two people could come out of that discussion with different interpretations of what was meant. Van Gundy was never trying to "screw" V-Span. He would've played him, if he thought he could help the Rockets win.

Hindsight is 20/20. It would've been nice to have had him developed enough to take a shot in the playoffs. But with the Rockets injuries, Van Gundy never had games to spare (you might remember we only won home-court by one game). Whatever you think of the firing of Van Gundy (and I believe the Rockets thoroughly embarrassed themselves in the way they handled it), he did what he should've done with V-Span.

one serious flaw in every vpsan gyro sniffer....thinking that playing time means you get better. false premise.

Yes and it even applies more to coaching. Thank God we nipped that in the bud.

Yeah. If this information is correct he hasn't learned anything and continues to blame JVG for everything. I can bet you if he doesn't work on his weaknesses Adelman won't give him much of a chance either.

    Or.....

He was ready to play this year and got buried in the doghouse because his coach was afraid to play a high risk player in a contract year.

    I choose my option....

    :D

Hopefully all the haters will come around and actually cheer for the guy as he is now a HOUSTON Rocket whereas their Lovable coach is not.

And another thread devolves into V-Span vs. JVG. What happened to the olive branch?

Do you bash on every thread or is it just a gift you have for sounding negative on all posts?

I got bashed over the head with it by the haters.....so why fight it...

    :D

I am still toning down the JVG haterade, but it is germaine to this discussion.

I don't hate VSpan at all. I want him to do well.I hope he can become a useful backup PG. But if he doesn't work hard he will be on the bench again.
