Which NBA guards would that be, Wade, Paul, Hinrich? They tried and failed miserably? As much as everyone thinks Spanoulis will eventually become a standout offensive player I see Spanoulis starting the season off as a better defensive player. ANd I don't see anyone abusing him at the pg and only some of the more talented 2's ala Kobe hurting him. In which case he shouldn't be matched up against a kobe for more than a few minutes out of necessity.

So you win the Jeff Van Grumpy negative outlook award. It's awarded to those who see something bright about the Rocket's futre and manage to find all the negative posssibilities in it. Congratulations, it still does not change the fact that Vspan is much quicker than you have earlier suggested and smarter than you think. Plus he will not tolerate abuse from any one player without figuring out a way to defend him. He's that type of player. Do you remember how denver's little SF Bill Hanzlik use to annoy Sampson at the center spot. He used every bit of energy to annoy Sampson and cause him to struggle. Well that's what Vspan will do only he is more talented and has great lateral foot speed.

If saying "NBA guards will do their best to abuse him early" wins me an award, fine. Whatever. It's the truth because that's the way the NBA works. Fresh meat gets put thru the grinder. How quickly he adjusts is the key and I didn't predict how successful players would be against him. You shouldn't let legitimate comments about V-Span be such a tripwire for your emotions.

We will all see how successful he is during the 82 game grind when the season starts. Until now it's all opinion. Since you are on the extremely optimistic side, I hope you are right. We all want every player who puts on Rockets red to be successful.

I dont know why every1 is worried about vspan hitting the 3. As long as he hits the midrange jumper he is already better than anything we had at guard last year outside of t-mac if you wanna consider him a guard

LMAO. Maybe if he showed more love the players wouldnt have such low self esteem. I mean just look at t-mac's sad face, or is that the way its always been. or look at yao's face when he messes up, dude looks like he wants to cry. love those guys though, they've got heart.
