Always great to see a bunch of random CFers that never watched Llull play evaluate him and label him a bust. Same guys that only watched Rubio Youtube highlights and called him the next superstar, while the Euro guys always hinted at his terrible shooting etc.

You don't know anything about Llull and maybe watched two or three Youtube videos, wait til he plays in the NBA and stop throwing out random phrases.

His skillset and physical tools are incredibly value in the NBA, already calling him a bust or 12th player shows you never seen him play.

People are actually excited about this guy?? He will contribute no more than Papa did but probably even less. I see nothing particularly special in him.

I hear broadcasters saying "Yoo-wee" instead of "Yoo-ul". Which is the right way?

I wonder if we are still bringing in either Gentile or Todorovic.

Gentile is still being rumored. I'd love to have Todorovic but I don't see him coming over unless we don't sign another big man. Especially with the rise of Capela.

He isn't the best PG in the Real Madrid roster(Sergio Rodriguez better) but his playing style is much more suitable for Nba comparing to the S-Rod.

I think he will be very good adition for us but i don't think that he is the starting PG we looking for.

Best case scenario, we get Lawson or Lowry and Llull off the bench. It would be fantastic.

I love how some people think just because a guy isn't some superstar talent , he is automatically a bust.

Dude will be a role player and will be paid like one. He may not push us over the edge, but he will certainly be part of a formidable backcourt with Harden and Bev.

Depending on the best offer he receives... He could be a good contract/trade asset to have in hand during the in-season. Especially if the Rockets don't want to overhaul their roster and need to do a deal for whatever reason.

Ok. As long as we don't go all in for him. Not saying he'll be a bust, but we're trying to win a championship. The question to me is can he match up against guys like Curry, CP3 or Westbrook. I think he'll have serious problems as a rookie. If they score 30, we need a guard that can give us 15-20 points with a few assist. I don't think Llull will lead us as a starter

He's played against the US national team on a number of occasions on live TV - I don't remember him being particularly impressive or a standout even the way Rubio was as a young player in 2008. I don't think he's a underexposed as you think

On the other hand, Vasillis Spanoulis had an uncharacteristically good game against the US in international competition and was a huge bust in the NBA. Carlos Arroyo carved up the USMNT and was a complete journeyman in the NBA, as was that Jasikevicus guy who the US couldn't stop but couldn't hang in the NBA.

People need to relax with the overreaction.

    1) This hasn't even happened yet
    2) If it does happen, it's not the only move that will be made

Morey only has a few bullets. We have no cap space. We have the MLE, a draft pick and some interesting but not amazing trade chips. With that Morey needs to get better at PG, potentially at starter AND the backup, a shooter and potentially more consistent play from the 4.

We don't have enough trade chips to trade for two impact players (say Lawson and Taj Gibson.) So, it could very well be that Morey is using the MLE on Llull because he is the best value at a position of need that we can get (not getting any great players with the MLE) and then expects to use the veteran minimum on a shooter (Dunleavy?) and a 3rd string 4 (Scola) while keeping Smith.

That scenario would leave you a potential Beverly re-signing OR sign and trade plus your draft pick and the combination of TJones, Papa salary and Prigs salary to try to add a high level starting PG.

This scenario I just mapped could give you:

    Lawson/Llull/Terry/NJ
    Harden/Llull
    Ariza/Dunleavy
    DMo/Smith/Scola
    Howard/Capela

You'd still have KJ and Brewer as possible re-signings.

Using the MLE on Llull doesn't mean anything about the offseason other than Morey really likes him and values him more than other potential MLE targets.

I love the guys passion, he looks like he just brings Pat Bev type of intensity and love on every play. That alone can't be coached. He has good size and speed and can finish some crazy shots, hit the mid range and long shot, and has excellent passing skills. It would be an upgrade either way over Terry and Prig.

****, I'm convinced. If he can bring even half of that to this team, rockets should be a legit favorite next season. Great to see some real ball handling and movement without the ball. Also seems fearless attacking the basket which will benefit the other four players on the court.

Sign me up for the wagon

Get lawson and get lawson..well lawson is not a free agent. Or you think that zDenver will gift him from free to Morrey? They make hard bargains. Already refused many offers for him and waited long for Mozgov as well until they got what they wanted. The Bucks in February offered them 17+Ilyasova +Henson + 46 and they said no. They want Sacramentos pick. Or at least two early firsts.
Llull is talented and he only will cost mcdaniels. Hopefully Not smith. But at least if he comes he is certain. Lawson right now is a pipedream. Same is Lowry.

Pipedream is probably too strong, but acquiring him is completely beyond the control of the Rockets. Acquiring Llull is between the Rockets and Llull. Much easier. Llull coming doesn't stop the Rockets from adding talent at the PG spot if there is a deal to be made. People rooting for Lawson or Lowry shouldn't see this as nixing that, just as adding another player with upside to the roster.
