I disagree. All of those on the 29 and older list mostly failed in the NBA outside of Sabonis. The ones that did not completely fail only had minor success as an end of the bench type of player. And I don't really call that a success.

Cedi Osman who might be picked by the Rockets at 32, blocks Lull

Cedi would be very good draft and stash player.

Disagree. More to the point, would D'Angelo Russell make the playoff rotation? The Rockets are NOT that good.

Looks like Llull (you-eeeeeee!!) likes to be the last player to run through the tunnel, eat chicken and pasta before the game, and wear the number 23. The Murph will stop that last bit. If he comes over, I'd be interested to see if he comes out of the tunnel/locker room last. I wonder if that's a vet thing.

Why would there be any correlation at all?

Llull is already a star on his team, so it's not like his "role" or minutes can increase much. And the Rockets already own his rights, so it's not like Rodriguez would take away from Llull's market. The parameters are already set.

Either Llull wants to play in Houston for MLE-level money, or he'd rather stay in Spain. Sergio Rodriguez potentially being a free agent and looking elsewhere around the NBA is pretty much irrelevant to the decision Llull will make.

What, exactly, is an elite backup point guard?

    It's very obvious.

Elite level high 5s and butt slaps. MVP level cheering after 3 pointers. Cheering for his team during crucial points in which he will never see the court. Being cheered very loudly when he actually comes in during garbage time.

Sergio Llull scored 9 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists in Real Madrid's game 1 win over Barcelona (78-72)

Llull's stats are rather pedestrian, aren't they? Wonder how his game will translate in the NBA.

He plays as part of a very good team, so he doesn't have to carry them. That's not who we'd be getting. But even if we "only" get a 10-5-4 kind of player (and I think that's near his "floor", not his "ceiling"), we've improved at the pg spot. Plus he brings a lot of fire, that "energy" McHale finds lacking in our team.

    Thanks!

Game 2 is Sunday, and the series could (unlikely) be over by game 3 on Wednesday since it is a best of 5.

Either way, I doubt a decision would be made in time for the draft on Thursday, but it would definitely help.

I hope you are right. Lord knows we need a serious upgrade at that position. My preference is Lawson, but I know it would cost us assets.
