[Spanish Radio] Sergio Llull close to deciding to join the Rockets?

I have my doubts about David Camps. But Martin Guirado is absolutely the best journalist in Spain. If he says Llull is coming over, then he is.

 

He looks like a dynamic player I just hope he can shoot in the NBA. His percentages aren't that amazing.

 

What about harden chillin with lawson?

 

They are saying the Rockets are offering basically the full MLE on a 3 year contract. Seems like the player finally wants to go to Houston, remains to be seen what happens with Real Madrid and his NBA opt out clause.

 

Remember when people said V-SPAN was the T-Mac of Euroleague? Sergio Llull is the ____________ of Euroleague. Have at it.

I'll believe he's coming when he actually signs an NBA contact. Until then I'm convinced he's just using us for leverage to get a bigger deal from Real.

Basketball is not all about stats. Lull is a solid addition to the mix. whether he starts or comes off the bench.

 

Billy was the Tmac of the Euroleague. He left because he couldn't get PT. He went back home and balled.

 

He re-signed for Real 2 years ago, he currently has contract with them, would have to pay the opt-out clause from his pocket... Madrid will try to retain him, but I'd say ultimately it will be done like it was done with Mirotic the last summer (the played payed Real like $3 million).

 

Sergio Lawlz is the next overhyped Euro "star".

Traded or back to Europe in 2 years or less.

1) His competitive attitude. Complements Harden's laid back style.

2) His fearlessness. Not afraid to take and make big shots.

3) His ball handling and play-making ability. Harden needs help.

How well and how soon can he adapt to the NBA.

The questions is this: What opportunity are the Rockets foregoing in order to sign Llull? If this requires using the full MLE, the Rockets will have to commit to operating above the cap-- many any big % acquisition will have to come by trade or sing-and-trade and not straight up signing. Otherwise, it'll be hard to see how the Rockets affords to pay him a salary good enough to entice him.
