    That's too bad. I have my brother who is the very profile of scam victim who gets taken to the woodshed all the time and never has the resolve or resources to fight for his rights or for what is right. Here, the scammer picks the wrong mark, someone who won't be bullied like my brother would, but manages to unwind their mistake and live on to scam someone else another day.

    Wait, does he know for sure that the dealer stole the car back? Could it just be a coincidence?

    Apparently, the rest of the story is you can buy a car from any dealership and, even though they initially approve the financing part of the deal and everything gets signed with customer thinking he now "owns" the car while keeping up with the payments, they can re-do their financing as necessary screwing over the customer while re-possessing the car. And, there is pretty much not a damn thing anyone can do about it unless they want to get into a really long legal battle that most customers don't want to go through and/or have the resources/time to go through. It's probably best to lick your chops and go find another car to purchase elsewhere.

    It's a total scam and I feel for anyone getting screwed over in this way. I will never finance my car through a dealer. I'll do my own financing thank you very much. My first choice is to just pay cash, though.

    Actually, he is correct. This type of stuff is classic Texas DTPA.

    TEXAS DECEPTIVE TRADE PRACTICES CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT GUIDELINES

    1. As a prerequisite to filing a suit seeking damages under this Act, the consumer must send a registered or certified letter of written notice telling the seller what is wrong and asking for the amount of your damages. The notice must advise the seller in reasonable detail of the consumer's specific complaint and the amount of damages.
    2. If the seller fails to send you the amount requested within 60 days of receiving your letter, a suit can be filed.
    3. If a suit is filed, ask for the all of the damages incurred as a result of this deceptive trade practice. The possible remedies include:
    1. Economic and mental anguish damages;
    2. Additional damages**;
    3. An injunction;
    4. A restoration order;
    5. The appointment of a receiver;
    6. Revocation of a defendant's license or certificate to do business;
    7. Court costs and attorney's fees;
    8. Interest; or
    9. Any other relief that the court deems proper.

    ** ADDITIONAL DAMAGES

    If a court finds that the conduct of the seller was committed "knowingly," a court may also award not more than three times the amount of economic damages.

    If a court finds the conduct of the seller was committed "intentionally," a court may also award not more than three times the amount of damages for mental anguish and economic damages.

    You should have taken a dump in the trunk maybe in the wheel well where the spare goes. That would have been legendary!

    Other places to consider fecal matter placement

    • Glove box (obvious)
    • Center console (too easy to find)
    • Ashtray (oh man if it was jammed full...lol)
    • Open up a door panel and sneak some in there
    • Smoothed out under the floor mats.
    • Windshield washer fluid dispenser would be great as well.
    • Open up an ac vent and place a small turd so every time it is on... the fresh aroma of poop is disseminated into the automobile.
    • Inside the pouch/wrap the tire jack is kept.
    • Tucked away under the sunroof's wind deflector. "What a nice day. I can't believe I swindled that nice couple. I think it is about time I make use of the the... what the heck!"
    • Under the visor... they open it up on a sunny day... bam...poop in the lap.

    Except that he didn't know his car was going to get repo'ed.. Kinda dumb to shat in your own car no? If I were him, I'd go back to the dealership.. pretend to look at cars and just pour piss all over the interiors..

    Make sure to check your credit file in a few months to make sure they don't report the repo. For them to get away with this, they are going to have to "sell" the story that you guys misrepresented yourselves on your credit app in order to get the original deal. Part of selling that story will probably be reporting the repo.
