How do you give up 43 points to SMU?

I'd much rather get "skull****ed" in a BCS game than win the Liberty Bowl. 16 million more dollars can go a looong way.

The Coogs only gave up 15 to SMU. So. Miss has the 2nd best offense in C-USA and the Coogs defense is one of the worst in the nation. In previous weeks the Coogs defense has been bend but don't break but these types of games are going to happen when you have a defense that gives up as many yards as the Coogs do. However the Coogs offense is so good, it can overcome a poor defensive performance. So. Miss had the top ranked defense in C-USA and the Coogs had 750 yards of total offense...incredible!

the box score is somewhat misleading, as UH was up I think 43-22 before they laid off a little and USM scored 3 times in a span of about 7 minutes. That was horrific defense, but up til that point, they had been playing relatively well.

i forgot to mention that those scores were at the end of the 4th quarter, when UH was clearly laying off (when it definitely shouldn't have)

The UH offense helped out USM with some turnovers, too.

    It wasn't *only* the D.

Of the 3 turnovers, 2 of them required USM to go 80 yards and 78 yards. While those 2 turnovers probably prevented UH from scoring more, the defense allowed a lot of yards to help enable USM to score 10 points off the two "long" turnovers.

UH's offense turning the ball over 3 times is pretty uncharacteristic... I think the way they control the game with offense is one of the only things that keeps the defense ( missing 4 starters and starting a butt-ton of underclassmen :( ) from becoming a total sieve.

UH has been mediocre forever and suddenly they put together a good season and people are complaining when they aren't blowing out opponents by double digits?

Hell, I'm just glad to see them winning so many games.

    A win is a win.

Agreed. They have exceeded expectations and are a fun team to watch. I can't understand anyone criticizing them this season.

Donny we going bowling and will be a top 10 program this year so dont waste your time arguing with a Rice fan. If its not baseball related that school is pretty much a non-factor.

something has to be done about our attendance issues...the attendance on Saturday seemed to be higher than the number reported, but it's still a shame that we can't sell out our stadium with a ranked team

Its a problem that was sewn over the past 40 years and won't be fixed overnight.
