from how the Entertainment Weekly interview looks.... it's gonna get a whole lot more preachy. it was pretty funny, not one of the best of all time though.
Not too impressed with the new episode. The funniest part was when Stan's dad had to 'apologize' to Jessie Jackson. The Gooback episode on before the new episode was much better.
agreed. stan's dad story was mediocre. cartman's story was a yawnfest. yeah, that forced laughter sounded really natural.
check southparkstudios.com on monday.... that's usually when they come up with the next episode's plot.
This Week on South Park: "Cartman Sucks" Butters has to go to a special camp where they “pray the gay away”.
I liked the new episode. I think it just wasn't as strong as some of the more creative episodes from Season 10. It was still pretty funny, especially the "kiss it" scene.
I think this is the "24" parody that was talked about. From today's Comedy Central Press Release: An Infestation of Head Lice Plagues South Park Elementary in an All-New "South Park" on Wednesday, March 21 at 10:00 P.M. on Comedy Central The fourth grade class won't be denied their rights as children to make fun of the unfortunate kid who has lice in an all-new "South Park" entitled, "Lice Capades," premiering on Wednesday, March 21 at 10:00 p.m. on Comedy Central. Confidentiality about who has head lice must be maintained so no child is embarrassed; so says the administration at South Park Elementary. When Garrison refuses to name names, Cartman finds a way to detect who has the head cooties. http://www.southparkstudios.com/
that's interesting, as i'm the exact opposite. the episodes that first got me watching were from around season 5 and later. so after discovering the show, i decide i needed to go back and catch up on seasons 1 through 4. i found that somewhere around season 4 or 5(-ish), the tone of the show changed. maybe they got new writers, who knows. all i know is there are very few episodes from seasons 1 through 4 that i can sit through. i would be sitting through a season 1-4 episode, see that i was over halfway through the episode, and realize i hadn't laughed once, but been annoyed plenty. never finished those episodes, waste of my time. IM(NSH)O: seasons 1 through 4.5 (as far as i can tell, haven't bothered to watch every episode due to reasons explaned): childish, annoying, yawn-inducing, "look, i can play with poop!" humor, cartman's voice/childish dialogue is really annoying seasons 5 onward: satire, ripping on people left and right, totally lampooning obscene/controversial subjects, randy marsh (!), cartman's voice is more biting, more adolescent (funnier) as opposed to childish (not funny). to each his own i guess.
I say seasons 4-8 were the best. The early ones are a little boring, I agree, but I really hate these ones where they base the storyline around current events. The stories are just so absurd sometimes and make no sense.
Yeah, the first few seasons are painful now. They ran a few gags (OMG U KILLED KENNY) into the ground almost as bad as the Geico cavemen. Interesting to see how far it's come though. Makes you wonder how great other prematurely axed shows could have become.
they've just gotten lazy.... season 1 - 13 episodes season 2 - 18 season 3 - 17 season 4 - 17 season 5 - 14 season 6 - 17 season 7 - 15 season 8 - 14 season 9 - 14 season 10 - 14
