Whereas I wouldn't be opposed to trading James for a player Adelman feels he needs, IMO James' time is yet to come. If we do make the playoffs, my gut says he will go from being a pawn to a knight.

I think the Rox would gladly take another L this year if it meant shedding the 16 million they owe to a guy who may not play anymore significant minutes this year. Also, him wanting to give us a L, and him being able to give us a L are two different things.

Cassell and Damon Stoudamire have the pg market tied up until they get bought out/moved. Once that happens, we could possibly see a trade involving James, but I doubt it amounts to anything.

At this point, I am happy with our bigs, all of them. I wouldn't want to lose a single one. Landry is a comer. Hayes.........still our best post defender by far. How could you get a better player for his salary? Impossible. Scola.....keeper, played great against Duncan, the best in the league. Yao and Deke, great center rotation, Deke can still bring it for the rest of this season. The only need I see here is for a more rangy type 4/5 to be able to compete defensively against taller 4/5s like Garnett and Duncan, a specialist that can give us some more good D, since Landry is a rookie and his weakness is his post defense and strength. I think he'll wind up a pretty good defender, because of his drive, but technically, he can be backed down and taken in the low block by guys like Duncan. That's why we still need Hayes. And that is why we may still need one more defender that can trouble face up 4s on their jumper and defend them in the post while giving Yao/Scola some offensive space by being able to hit the J, something that is Hayes weakness because of his lack of height and offensive skill set.

I would think that Miami, if they continue to lose games, which I believe they will, and be in the lottery, would be interested in any kind of salary dump they can get. I think they would be more than willing to move Mark Blount for James and Snyder's expiring. This give them another $2 million of cap space to use on a player like Artest to go with their big two and a lottery pick. However, Blount plays zero defense from what I have seen. Great shooter though. Is accurate and can get it off in a millisecond.

The Knicks would give us Jeffries for James and Snyder I'm pretty sure there again. And Jeffries is a better defender. Just don't know if he can guard 4s.

Why not send him to Milwaukee along with cash and a 2nd rounder for Villanueva and Bell???? We'd have to cut Snyder. But I'd do that deal in a heartbeat. I'd probably even think about it real good if Milwaukee asked for our first rounder instead, maybe our first thrown in for their 2nd rounder, since Morey is showing signs of being a proficient drafter. Villanueva has the physical tools to be the rangy type 4 that we could use, along with great offensive tools and the ability to get out on the break. I'd give them Luther Head or Novak for this deal. Actually, I'd prefer to give them Luther or Novak so we could get a roster spot to add Mike Harris. Send Novak home. He may be the PJ Stojakovic type 3 man for Milwaukee. Bell wants out of there and James would replace him plus they get the pick.

Yea I also liked James, but wish him the best. He never really seemed to fit in with this teams style of play. I'm sure he still gots some good play left in him but there's not enough room for him and Francis sitting on the bench. James I'm sure would love to stay but I bet he'd rather be getting some playtime on another team. Francis does fit better but also got beat out by the younger guys and personally would rather have him around for some insurance, just in case there's a injury or Rafer falls off the map again.

There's no doubt he would. And Blount would be a nice player......if he played one lick of D and boarded.

....But all he does is run the floor looking for the jumper. I'm not doing the deal unless Miami gives up an asset, Wright or a future pick or something.

MJ has done absolutely zero to get minutes. His +/- ratio has to be the worse on the team. He doesn't play point, he shoots whenever the urge hits him. He acts as if he's Tmac lite. Defense has been horrible and has show little bball IQ. The backcourt of him and head was autrocious, at least the idiot known as head hits some shots some time.

It wasn't a mistake, IMO. How could we know we'd get Francis? Or that Brooks would develop quickly enough to impact the season? And Alston? He's played better than anyone could reasonably expect and I'd still prefer he came off the bench. Head has played decently within Adelman's system, which has earned him minutes that might have gone to James. James got caught in a numbers game, but his biggest problem is when he has gotten minutes, he doesn't play within Adelman's offense.

I really wanted him back and I'm very disappointed in how he's played when given the chance (with a few exceptions). I'm a bit mystified by it. If we can move him, we really need to.

I hope if he is traded, we can get something good for him. Like a 2nd round draft pick...or a big man just in case.

I guess I agree with the person who has sympathy ..for him possibly being on the move again, especially since Houston is his home, but I think the Rockets should move him, because there's no point in keeping him here for another 2ish seasons.

When did he play for the Heat?

Houston will try to deal James

    • With Mike James buried behind Luther Head and Aaron Brooks, Houston will try to deal James after giving him a contract in June that pays him $5.6 million this season and $6 million next season with a player option for another $6.4 million in 2009-10.

Minny gave him that deal. We just tried to...

Hopefully we can get a 1st rounder for him. I think that'd make me happy. He really does seem to have settled down.

That kind of deal is only likely if we trade him to New York.

I would rather have a expiring contract. I could see this coming miles away. When i was at the Rockets game and during warm ups before the game (when they played the Spurs) he was bricking tomany 3's. On the other end Brent Barry and Bonner where swishing all theres.
