ya it's been obvious he's looking ahead to summer 2015…..i just didn't expect he would essentially sacrifice the next 2 seasons in order to go ALL IN riley style. the roster is woefully unbalanced with many pieces that simply do not fit, but this doesn't phase morey in the least. his discipline and focus is all about july '15. my only concern is that howard is in his 10th season and clearly in his prime now. it's a shame to have to wait another couple years to get that contending roster.

    In before jtr

Back on topic, I would still like Granger but obviously he will want playing time and chances are we wont be able to give him a lot. I just hope that this is the real Hamilton.

    Casspi 2.0

Morey is also a fool for not going after Granger hard! How soon ppl forget that Granger was Pacer #1 option just 3 years ago. He is a two-way perimeter player which this team is in desperate need.

Would have been nice to have him, but probably the right move. I wasn't opposed to Granger, but i certainly didn't think he'd be the shot-in-the-arm we need. Hamilton has definitely impressed me. He will fill his role well.

after our poor showing last nite, granger would probably choose the clipps over us even if we wanted him.

Everything makes sense. Hamilton seems to be a fine player just from two games, Granger may not have two good games in a row this year.

I'm pretty suspicious. He's only played 2 games for the Rockets. I don't see Morey changing his plans because of Hamilton's performance in 2 games. Hamilton might have been lucky, or on a hot streak, or neglected by the defenses. Morey may have decided not to pursue Granger, but I can't imagine 2 games from Hamilton being the reason why.

Do you think Granger has that much to offer? Have you seen him play this year?

I fail to understand why there would be downside to having both Hamilton AND Granger. If only to make their lineups more flexible and letting Harden/Parsons play less minutes, and to allow the ability to play more small ball.

I can understand if Granger wants too big a role for the Rockets liking. Perhaps he wants to be in a Crawford 6th man role while the Rockets want him more to be a 3pt specialist. But if he's willing to sign here, I see no reason why he can't get 20mpg easily.

We are not going to find a starting caliber SF on the waiver wire. Sorry. Parsons eats up all those minutes anyway. We just needed a SF who could rebound, play decent D and shoot the open 3 at a decent rate. He does all of that so far. Let's see if he keeps it up.

Granger is a 'name', but what has he shown on the court since returning from his injury? Pacers are trying to beat the Heat this year and need ALL the help and depth they can get to do that and they let him go for Turner. That tells me they knew something about him.

So lets see who else comes up or is available overseas.

I think he will go after Jamison, if he becomes available.

I wasn't too happy about it either. Especially when he reportedly turned down Brandon Bass and Courtney Lee for Asik just because Lee's deal ran past 2015. But you look at this team right now, and it's not like they can't compete for a title as currently constructed. Are there holes in the roster? Of course. But no team is set at all 5 positions, not even the Heat or Thunder. And while I have concerns about matching up with OKC and the Clippers come playoff time, the Thunder are having issues of their own right now and who knows if we'll even have to face L.A. in the postseason.

Look at it this way. If the Rockets fail to win a title this season or next, but are able to turn all that cap space into Kevin Love or LaMarcus Aldridge, I think most of us would be more than ok with that outcome.

Granger is 30 years old going on 40. Hamilton is what, 23? 24? He's showed at least some promise in the past two games. He seems to be fitting in well. I'm fine with this.

Interesting point. But, if Granger were in then (presumably) Casspi would be waived. So, would a developing back into Granger be better this year than an emerging Hamilton/known quantity Casspi + a presumably revitalized '14-'15 Granger?

I like DG's experience and talent; in 20+ mpg would the recalcitrant knee be as much of an issue?

Have you seen Casspi play this year?

I agree with Juan. 1 person playing 2 games does not, should not and will not affect the signing of a player. I don't think Morey is foolish enough to pass on someone based on a VERY small sample size or given the team as a whole.
