Sources: Tristan Thompson to Houston is one of the scenarios I am hearing

There's no way that Tristan would be worth the huge tax bill that would come with his $17 MM salary, especially since we've ducked the tax already for more meaningful contributors (Ariza, Green/Temple).

My hunch is that Daryl puts out these loud overtures for some players, knowing that we won't trade for them, but hoping that when they become free agents, they'll remember how aggressively we pursued them. With Tristan Thompson set to be bought out, maybe this plays out again.
