The only argument I can come up with is that at least if he takes over, we'd have consistency from his position for the next 25 years or whatever. Your take certainly softens my stance. Thanks.

I've let it go, but I still don't think you know what you did. It doesn't feel like you do.

Completely different situations, I fully understand, but someone like Donnie Nelson got his position because of "nepotism" and he's managed to do fairly well in his role.

The role for Fertitta won't (or shouldn't) be focusing on basketball decisions.

    We'll see how things go.

This is largely a non-basketball ops position so he will actually be doing less of the invasive maneuvers on roster construction and player personnel than if they had put him on a GM track and I don't really care if they botch a food vendor or sponsor selection on the business side as much as doing something tragic with the roster (like trading CP3 and 2 picks 2 swaps.)

When Tillman speaks in interviews on networks like CNBC, he also kinda sounds like a dumbass yokel also.

As much as I agree with your logic, the Texans have been saying the same thing for months about Jack Easterby’s “non football ops” position. So, I see where you are going and I hope you are right, but....who knows.

That’s a good spin job though. I’m sure that will be what media types go with.

Right, it's not that serious. Was just saying that it makes it pointless to have dialogue when folks make unfounded assumptions and openly mock you before you've even said anything.

P.S. As for Feigen and others, I would urge some of you to remember that everyone has a side. It's easy to post a strong take behind an anonymous Internet handle, without having talked to the people involved and hearing their side of the story. It's another thing for someone like Feigen, who has his name on everything he writes/says and has to interact with these people on a regular basis for his job.

That doesn't mean that you should lie and defend them, no matter what. Part of journalism is holding powerful people accountable. But another part is responsibly presenting the facts from all sides, and readers can draw their own conclusions.

I know there's a lot of anger, but it doesn't need to get personal with media members who are just trying to do their jobs.
