Dmo's contract is actually very well constructed (thanks to Marks). He has a reducing contract which consist of $9 mill only for the first year and partially guaranteed anything after the first year so technically he's really only got a 1 year deal but can be traded after the season. I would match bc you have nothing to loose
My educated guess is that he's a goner. If they plan to keep him there is no reason to wait to match. If they plan not to match then might as well wait until tonights game is played.
I was just posting "what i don't understand is why we should not match and just postpone a decision on the next deadline?" lol
It won't make Rockets a contender but will add huge depth. He will give us +5 wins I think, and maybe will give some PlayOff wins If he fit in D'Antoni system. And we have no guarantee about Nene's and Ryan's injuries. I think we should match this. At worst we can waive him on 1 March.
Was talking from the Rockets perspective! Can't trade him this season I thought (I might be wrong) that he couldn't be traded in the summer if we took up his option for next year? And so he would definitely inhibit 2017 capspace in that event? No?
BimaThug's "Unofficial" OP explains all that. CBA Rules give DMo Veto Power for one year, now that we have matched. That Power does not move with him if he consents to a trade, though.
