So it seemed like last time we did this, with Lowry, Morey made it known publicly that we were matching and bringing Lowry back, but he waited to the very end to make it official. Am I understanding that right?

Maybe Morey is just a little more careful with people trying to screw with him after the way the Parsons Cuban thing went down. So perhaps we won't know anything until it's a done deal?

Sure, I posed an scenario where waiting might have been a way to test Morey's will to match, but nothing in the contract needed that Nov 24th deadline to block trades. In fact, I even speculated that teams would be more interested in post-Deadline offers to block Morey's trade, and BimaThug said "that makes no sense" since any match at anytime throughout the year provides that veto power. The difference between a Sept-to-Sept or Oct-to-Oct or Nov-to-Nov vs a Dec 5th-Dec 5th window of Veto Power is negligible.

 

I think it's probable we don't match now . Why wait this long !?!?
