Percentage is one thing, number of makes is another. Green only hits 0.5 threes per game in his career, while Saric hits 1.6. When two players have practically the same percentage and one triples the makes of the other, you can't really say they are on the same level as far as shooting is concerned.
You are 100% right in your point, but it also feels weird to say "triples the number of makes" when we are talking about .5 to 1.5. Yes, that's triple I get that, but still.
Pulled from Reddit about the Wolves shopping Teague -- gives a perspective of how fans feel about their roster right now: Important to note that "there has been little interest around the league," per Jon Krawczynski. I imagine between his contract and the fact that he's been off and on injured lately, this is a tough sell. He and Dieng and Wiggins are all in the same boat in my mind right now: trade them for whatever we can get. I think the mentality with moving any of those guys needs to be unloading the contract and not "what can we get back for him". If all we got was trash in return for Teague, so be it. We are hamstrung by these colossal contracts that these guys had no business getting in the first place.
I like Saric on this team but the Wolves will be asking a lot for him, especially since they know we already offered 4 picks for Butler. Teague is terrible now. Rose is outplaying him so Wolves are shopping him.
If they did do that they would look stupid lol Should have just traded us butler for Gordon + chriss and the picks from the jump.
You obviously misunderstood. What Saric has developed, as of right now, is more than enough to trade a 1st rounder and pieces for. The potential for future progress is still there, both offensively and defensively. Unlike Green who is already 30 and has pretty much reached the peak of his potential. He's putting up solid numbers, when he gets a chance, on a terrible team. That doesn't mean he will replicate that production if we trade for him and plug him into the lineup. If you expect him to stay with Klay, Durant, Curry, and Draymond you've got another thing coming. He's no defensive stopper even for this defense hungry Grizzlies squad. Hell they have the rookie Jaren Jackson Jr. playing over him now. What does that say!? We can't think so narrow-mindedly out of desperation. That's not been Morey's MO to date. (Sans the 4 first rounders for Jimmy, but this ain't no Jimmy here or anything even close to being worth a single first rounder)
Thibodeau's stubborn ass screwed us and them out of a really good offer. Maybe @Dream Shook is onto something.....nobody wants to **** with the Rockets
Spoiler: Throw some picks here and there...we're a Chriss/Nene dump away from being out of the tax too after this
Why do the T-Wolves do that trade? Unless they're anxious to dump Covington's elite defense, 3-pt sharpshooting, and sensible 3-more-years contract and get nothing too great in return.
Because it's not my money, I'd hope for a trade that is something like Knight + Criss for Dieng + Saric. In other words, Saric is used as sweetener to trade a guy with 2 years of dead salary remaining after this year for a guy who only has one. Thanks for the tidbit Cyberx but given how he worded it (Rockets asked, who knows if Minny listened) and that they have an interim GM, I doubt this happens. Minny is now in "don't make bad deals mode." If they do anything, it'll be trading away Taj and Tolliver, i.e. expiring vets, for second rounders of some sort.
Guys, please don't fluff. He's a terrible defender, and more likely to get worse than better as he ages. I don't know why time and time again people think players' defense will be better on the Rockets. Why? Why would that happen? For offense you can make a rational argument, but defensively he has been a problem for the Sixers and the Wolves and there's no evidence players get better defensively with us. If anything it's the opposite. His ceiling is Mirotic with less rebounding and better passing. Good contract, will be restricted so team control. Young. There are things to like about him without saying ridiculous thing like "average defender, might improve here". Let's not repeat unfounded expectations like we did with Ennis, MCW, Faried, Melo. He is not going to become quicker, and his opponents are getting quicker. That's the truth.
The Pelicans are seeking a 1st-Round Pick in exchange for Nikola Mirotic, the Blazers and Jazz remain interested, per @KevinOConnorNBA idk how we cant top this
I don’t know man. Are you sold on Nikola? Seems like teams consistently looking to dump him. I’m scared that we will be the same.
