Agreed. You put Draymond on the Knicks, we’d forget he was in the NBA. He is a product of that system and some of the best shooters the game has seen.

Harden’s slump has NEVER been as bad as Ryan anderson - stop it.

Draymond is average without Thompson and Curry. He looked so bad when it was just him and Durant against the Clips earlier this season in the game where Lou Will went for 50.

I think some people should just stick to the ryno positive vibes thread because the homerism and illogical points being made are just getting really annoying

really? My point was about the here and now. If he made 3mill a year we would still be over the cap and have the same exact team this season.

His salary issue wouldn't effect us this summer though. That's when we wouldn't be b****ing as much about him.

The answer is Tucker at backup 4 and Green at backup 3

The rotation is that short anyway - would you rather have Ryno hesitating all game to even attempt 3s and play worse D than Green or Tucker??

    The Nuclear Option:

Extend and Stretch - This offseason, Ryan Anderson will be eligible to be extended. If we were absolutely desperate for cap space, we could manipulate the CBA by doing an extend and stretch.

This offseason, Ryno will have 2 years 41.6m dollars on his deal remaining. Theoretically, the Rockets could extend Ryno for additional years at the minimum, making it a six year ~46m dollar contract. They could then immediately waive Ryno via the stretch provision, which would stretch his salary over 2x the contract length, plus one year. Anderson's cap hit this offseason, would be 3.5m dollars, however that 3.5m would linger on our books for 12 additional seasons. Is that worth Lebron.....I don't know, but it's interesting to look at all our options.

That doesn't mean he's spacing the floor like last year - which was your argument.

Ryno would agree to an extension making the minimum for what reason? That’s not an option because it would never happen.

He went from +6 on/off to -10 in one year. 16 point swing. That +6 was completely unexplained by conventional counting stats or most advanced metrics. Outside of his 3 point percentage, Ryan Anderson was a decidedly below average starter. But the Rockets - in the regular season - were undeniably better when he took the floor, similar to Curry, as your chart shows (but to a far smaller degree). This year, he's made the Rockets decidedly worse whenever he takes the floor - and his individual stats are marginally worse, but he was already setting a pretty low bar for a starter. My only explanation is that his spacing is either not effective, or he's not creating the spacing he was last year.

He's just not working out that well.

We're getting playoff Ryno, basically - which is to say we are playing 4-on-5 on offense on a lot of possessions.

LOL, of course he would agree to it.

Hey Ryno, we are waiving you, but you still get all your contract money, but if you sign this additional piece of paper, obligating you of nothing, we will give you an additional 4m.

Its a no brainer for Anderson.

What do u have to say about this info right here then?

edit: some of that is old CBA info

from the latest CBA: “Veteran extensions (other than Designated Veteran Player Extensions as described below) will be permitted to cover five total years as follows: four new years if one year remains on the current contract, or three new years if two years remain on the current contract”

Is this assuming that Ryno will sign this extension/stretch?

Like, what do the Rockets require from Ryno for this to get done?

Looks like they would only be able to extend 3 years, 5 total, stretched over 11 years. Number jumps from 3.5m, to 4.1m per year.
