Highly doubt we get put in a position to even have the option to do what Nola did. Could possibly wind up as the worst trade in History
Thunder were still able to go to the WCF for mutilple years after the Harden trade. Kings could possibly be about to make the Sixers last 5 years look like golden years
You most definitely do what NO did. I'm just going to think that Morey had ZERO chance. I just can't imagine him turning down any deal that could pair Harden/Cousins.
PLEASE get Tyson Chandler. Harrell, Brewer, KJ, Ennis, #27 for Chandler and Tucker. We would be a devastating team. In the rotation, you turn Harrell into Tyson Chandler, and Brewer into PJ Tucker. Our depth, defense and rebounding gets much better, we don't lose any offense at all. We might have a legitimate shot at being 2nd best offense and top 10 defense, which is HUGE. And it opens up 2 roster spots. Sign one of Chalmers, Jack or Galloway if bought out. Sign Casspi. Let's go. Can't wait for this deadline to pass, it's driving me nuts.
The good thing is the trade deadline is so close and one way or the other we'll all know which route Morey will take. I can see Koufos on the Rockets; the Kings will want to keep that top 10 pick away from Chicago. What better way to lose than to add Corey Brewer to your lineup? As far as major trades, well, ball's in your court, Morey.
Be careful of "at all costs". A draft pick....sure, if we must. But we have a few young players I wouldn't sacrifice for Brewer. I know, I know, it was just a suggestion. Along the lines of the Dark Knight's "let her go" and the Joker's "oooooh, very poor choice of words".
Maybe it's the Dwight Howard situation all over again and that would be awesome if it was. I would love to have Cousins, although I do not think we need him
As much as I would love to underscore this, Brewer was once upon a time a good player, and he's still a likable dude.
I can. The center pairing doesn't seem to work or matter much anymore.... but even more than that, DMC is not exactly a beacon of organizational leadership. Great talent, but not the type of guy I want next to Harden. See: last year vs. this year for how talent on paper doesn't always match up with overall performance. Since there have been absolutely 0 rumblings about Millsap since he was pulled off the market, maybe the Hawks aren't going to trade him. You'd think they'd have to... hard to see him staying unless they just offer him a boatload of money they shouldn't do. That's the guy Morey should go after.... and by go after I mean trade something along the lines of what the Pelicans, or Raptors traded to get Cousins/Ibaka. Would need a third team, though, since Millsap makes $20 million a year, and even throwing in Brewer doesn't get you there unless you give up Ariza, PBev, etc. Which I wouldn't do. I'd give up draft picks, Harrell, Brewer, Ennis, KJ, etc. Keep Dekker and all the other key rotation players. Why the Hawks do it? Harrell has upside, draft picks have upside, and Millsap will walk otherwise.
Therein lies the problem. The Rockets want to experience that first wonderful heroin rush when he came here and was playing for a contract, dialed in on a good team; they want to be on the opposite end of the player who scored 51 points (albeit with Harden and Parsons playing "defense" on him). And yet that player no longer exists. Now it's the male version of "Oops! I Did It Again". He's a nice guy and all. And an $8,000,000 black hole in the salary cap.
The man is always open. For a reason. That's (even) less D than he faced in the 51er. I like everything about Brew. Until he has the ball on O. Then no. Then an oops waiting (not long) to happen. If Brew and KJ are still on Thurs nite's Rox roster I hope KJ gets a shot at some real minutes.
