The Bulls situation is extremely volatile behind the scenes. Gar Forman and John Paxson have had their power struggle and John Paxson is now the one making making personnel decisions and will be making the call on trades and the direction the organization takes. Paxson believes that Foreman put together a bad mix of players that do not fit. He has no loyalty to a majority of the players as he didn't sign or draft most of them.

It would take a lot to pry Butler from Paxson (Boston and Minnesota have the pieces), but anyone else is possible. Gibson would be solid for the Rockets, Lopez would be a good fit for the Rockets (especially if they move Capela in a bigger deal both short and long term. Mirotic WILL be moved.

How did "Abel" become a reference to Cain and Abel [Brook and Robin Lopez] ?

Codman originally used "Abel" as a pop-culture reference [The Weeknd a.k.a. Abel Tesfaye] along with a specific team (Orlando Magic); PG depth behind Beverley ?

Oh, don't listen to me. I don't follow these rumors unless I'm bored. I just remember someone using that reference in their deciphering, and I'm definitely clueless wrt Weeknd.

But Slevin does appear to be a "look-alike" / mistaken identity reference....like twins

    my thoughts in red.

facilitate a bulls trade doens't mean take a main piece like butler. a few guys we know morey liked in the past are Rolo and MCW. both would be upgrades in the rotation over nene/brewer.

brew/KJ/trez for rolo/MCW works on the trade machine.

we know kidd is trying to move monroe but hasn't found any takers. as Cod said although we are looking at tweaks, sometimes pressure makes diamonds. in this case pressure to move monroe can be a diamond of a deal for us. if they can't find any takers, maybe they accept our lowball offer. we know morey wouldn't be able to turn down a good deal.

Dekker + 1st for Crowder...mmmh, not sure i'd do it having Ariza...but, having a starter under that contract (talking about Crowder) is a great advantage -> if you want to keep flexibility.

Btw Ainge has so many picks...i don't really see him involving Morey in a big deal like this...

Trading Dekker and a 1st for Crowder? LUNACY!!!!

I wouldn't trade Dekker and a 1st unless I'm getting the best player in the deal.

Crowder is a championship level starting player and a perfect long term replacement for Ariza. I would trade Dekker and our first for him, but the Celtics would laugh at that deal imo. In fact I would trade Dekker and an unprotected future first for him. Kind of deal where the other team can might greater future value but you secure an excellent starter for a contender NOW and long term.

However, I can't understand how Boston would be trading established players for developing assets. Seems to me they would be doing the opposite right now.

Chandler is just a smoke screen. Morey always make a deal that comes from nowhere. Except maybe Lawson.

He's far and away the best player.
Well ariza is entering his last year this off season so he would be replacement going forward and likely already better.
I was just proposing a scenario because I was asked.

Right now they wouldn't do that trade and would laugh.

But in proposed scenario they get Butler and while I think they seriously love his play and contact Avery becomes the better fit for the team.

Chicago will want more picks and we provide that and a depth add replacement for crowder.

Boston loves thier picks, for Butler they possibly could rid bkn 1st but asking ainge to fork over another pick isn't happening.

That's where a Boston could help facilitate a trade. It's good value for Jae and they could do the deal without us if Chicago wants Jae but I envision they want picks and youth.

I would trade (dekker/montrezl)+1st for either Bradley or Jae. I prefer Jae because of extreme contract value but Avery is the better fit. Puts bev on the bench and improves defense.

No way is Jae Crowder better than Jimmy Butler.

I thought you meant in terms of dekker and jae

Clearly Butler is the best but we have no chance of acquiring him at all.

The trade in terms of our team was dekker/kj/1st for Jae...

I'd pass on that deal. I think Dekker could wind up being really good player, really soon.
