Greg Stiemsma went down with a sprained left knee and won't return to Tuesday's game. He was basically carried to the locker room and if he's going to miss time it should mean even more minutes for Jason Smith, who has been playing very well at center for the Pelicans recently. It also means that newly signed Lou Amundson is going to be forced into action, even though he doesn't even have his name stitched on his jersey yet. Nov 12 - 11:31 PM Source: New Orleans Times-Picayune Salt Lake City -- New Orleans Pelicans backup center Greg Stiemsma sat out Wednesday night’s game against the Utah Jazz and will undergo further testing Thursday in New Orleans to determine the extent of his sprained left knee, coach Monty Williams said. Sounds like he's day to day but they are testing it and looking into it to make sure there isn't anything more serious wrong with it. If its nothing serious and just a sprain, getting him in the deal as well shouldn't be an issue if the Pelles agree to include him in the deal, and agree to a physical beforehand.
Getting Milsap or even a stopgap guy like Patterson would not be throwing away 2 season IMO. LMA is much much better than Anderson, come on now.
Pretty sure Morey's been on the phone for some time. That's a big part of his job-- talking to other GMs about possible deals to improve the roster.
I'd stay away from Jeff Green. Have never seen him play but my Celtics' friends keep complaining about him and wish they could trade him..
After seeing Davis' rookie hazing, I am surprised they do not want to take any touches away from him.
This sounds like classic posturing by the Pelicans. I think they take Asik for Anderson straight up 10 out of 10 times.
I know that. It takes a lot of time to turn a deal anyways. The process was already started a while back. It'll take another few weeks to culminate it if it even happens. If we have 3 games in a row where Howard and Asik pull down double digit boards a bunch of us will be migrating back to not trading Asik again. As far as I'm concerned I've never been opposed to trading him but only in the right deal. I like my deal...a lot. We get Millsap and Hawes for Asik we can play big with Dwight and Hawes and still spread the floor, we can take Dwight out and keep Hawes out high and let Millsap and Harden/Lin pick and roll teams to death. And we can play Dwight and Millsap conventionally. Millsap can play high or low. Hawes can play high or low. Hawes excels from the perimeter. And Millsap excels everywhere. Both guys multi-dimensional, basketball junkies, Hawes coming into his prime at age 25 and Millsap in his prime at 28 I think. I want this deal.bad.
